I added a small post. I didn't move anything forward, because I want to hear more opinions on Abydos vs. Ignae. We know Anonymous leans toward Ignae and Rasmus toward Abydos, but what about everyone else?

By the way, I don't think Feoras is nearly as important as he thinks he is ^_~

As you may have noticed, I made a new post. I hope it brings fond memories to the minds of numerous Cythera fans. ^_~

May I assume the group is going to visit Ignae?

I went ahead and posted. I'm afraid that it's rather short, but I hope it will get things moving again.

I'm having more computer problems, if you've been wondering why I haven't been much of a common sight.

I'm writing a BT post, just in case anyone was thinking of ninja'ing me. tongue.gif

I might go ahead and post something in the next day or two. Usually, I dislike double-posting, but the lack of activity lately might make it necessary.

I put up a short post that I had pretty much written two weeks ago. Nothing happens in it, just exploring the peculiar character of Zak a bit more I suppose.

several parts of my last post might not make much sense to those who haven't played the game, such as Pirro immediately recognizing a non-combatant near the end. That scene didn't actually play out quite like I'd envisioned it, but I'm fine with how it turned out.

As always feel free to help me get your character right if I got it too wrong.

I basically skipped the fight scene because I wasn't sure how to do it, partly because the part before that was necessary for background, & the part after it was what I wanted to write. I think that there is still room for someone else to write the fight scene.

Although the game doesn't mention Kosha getting flooded or anything, it seemed like something the Undine would do to destroy any evidence that could help the people of Cythera defend themselves.

I figure that Arimi wants to hire the party to guard for a few days, or to get the Iron Mine for him, but have no problems with someone taking his request in a completely different direction. I left it purposely vague.

I hope that's all the notation I was planning to give! Next poster!

I like your post, Shorty ^_^

To be honest, the main reason I posted was because Shorty had that awesome post idea, but couldn't post it because he'd posted last. While I was at it I tried to throw in a little bit of character development, which I think this TS needs. I'd offer to edit upon request, but the only people who actually participate in the TS anymore are Shorty and Jacks, and I didn't use their characters :P

I know Kat bowed out and Valy doesn't have internet access, but what happened to Sely and Wizzy? o.O

Selax was probably eaten by one of his many cats, or something. To be honest, I forget about Cythera until a day or two ago. I blame that on Selax because he's usually so active that he constantly reminds me, but he's been so busy with other stuff recently that he hasn't been around either. . .

Tried bringing some sort of balance between my last post & twojacks' I hope I did alright.

Pirro was supposed to come across as somewhat overbearing but not arrogant nor sarcastic. Especially not sarcastic.

I'm done with school for the summer, so I hope to be able to start posting in this TS again. I need to read over the TS a bit again (to refresh my memory), but I'm somewhat concerned that the characters might be becoming too powerful (e.g. not really having any difficulty with ruffians).

Also, who is still interested in this TS?

I'm still interested! Personally, I'm not too concerned over people needing to have heavy interest in Blazing Trails. If people want to focus on Dark Mirror, I think that's fine, since it is significantly more complex, and we can progress this one whenever we have the time. Just thinking aloud here.

Likewise, I agree with Selax that the character's may be becoming too powerful. I know a couple of them are actually fairly skilled warriors, but maybe since the others aren't we could pull back the challenges they face to be smaller? Also, Jehezekel had mentioned earlier that we may want to incorporate more puzzles into this TS to make it more like the game. I'm all for that. I'm not a particularly great puzzle-maker, but I'm willing to give it a try and work with whatever other people come up with.

And lastly, I caught up and posted in Blazing Trails. Nothing useful to the group happens in my post. It is almost entirely character development, like my last one. I've been focusing a lot on Zak's mental processes, exploring the way he thinks about things so that I can better put into writing my attempt to develop his character from selfish and afraid to a caring and competent healer. Obviously, that may be a ways down the road, but I thought this was a good opportunity to set him on the path and give backstory for future development.

I think you did a good job developing Zak in your latest post, Wizzy ^_^ Character development is something we should all be working on, since we're not really used to these characters yet.

I'm still interested in Blazing Trails, but I feel like others are taking this TS seriously, and I didn't realize it was supposed to be taken seriously... is it?

I'm still interested (more than I am in Mirror) but I don't really know my character very well, so it's hard to write him. I get the feeling that almost everybody else has a better idea what he's like than I do :/ I recognize him better in y'alls posts than I do in my own.

My apologies for my much belated response. I have been meaning to get back to this TS but have kept getting sidetracked.

In answer to your question about the seriousness of the TS, 453, it is intended to be as serious as any of the other TSs. It is merely set in an earlier time with weaker characters.

I'm somewhat concerned about the direction of the TS. Given the low level of activity, I'm wary of sidetracking into a different quest. I think that I'd like the group to continue on to Ignae and to attempt to wrap up the original quest quickly. Perhaps, Arimi and the ruffian Encampment could be left to a future TS? (My character raises this possibility in my TS post.)

Thoughts?

Does rushing through "the main quest" really accomplish anything if all you're going to do is head directly into a sequel? I suppose if you're looking to dramatically shake up the cast there's a point, but on the other hand, if you're trying to tell a story about a group of new characters, does it really make a difference if the story is told in one topic or ten topics?
