It's a pyramid, & has only one entrance, facing East. (I'd be okay with adding a well-hidden cooks entrance on the south)

Thanks guys, that's extremely helpful.

As I was writing my post, another idea for a future TS in this series occurred to me: we could do something with the harpy egg that Bellerophon gave to Pheres. Maybe Pheres accidentally creates newer, stronger kesh? Maybe the egg somehow hatched and harpies have taken over Pnyx! I don't know, it's just something that I was always curious about that the game never discussed further.

What's to keep us from just continuing this TS through all the Quests we can imagine? The name's generic enough.

To do something like that, I think we'd be better off still creating different threads for each TS but just having one flow into the other (skip going to the Tavern, just link the end of one to the beginning of the next). That way, to catch up on the current story, you wouldn't have to read or sift through all the old ones to find the relevant story.

On a related-unrelated note: why is no one posting in Blazing Trails?

ah, but perhaps in order to get Jhiaxus to leave the mine we need to retrieve some Kesh for him from the ruffian encampment, but on their way back to the mountain pass after retrieving the Kesh, Prusa pops out of the bushes & reveals that the Seldane city is -the- place to be for those of the adventurous sort. So they go down to the swamp & manage to get teleported to the Seldane Citadel where Sabinate threatens them with dire warnings if they help his disowned son commit suicide, but Sabinate will get Jhiaxus out of the mine if we retrieve a certain jewel from Ignae. Ignae won't tell us what he did with the rock unless we find some sulfur for him. We also talk to Eioneus while down there, thus acquiring a lust for obsidian.........

You get the idea? A lot of the Quests in the game were all interconnected so that there wasn't a clear line between working on one Quest & solving another. Not that I'd be -very- likely to hijack an attempt to have a more linear Quest structure.

I'm inclined to agree with Wizard. In addition to the reasons he posted, I have also noticed that, if the plot wanders too much in a TS, interest will wane.

Also, why is no one posting?

Probably because everyone is focused on Dark Mirror instead (that's my excuse, at least...)

I have the last post, that's why! Why don't YOU post?
I've even had time to go back & edit my post longer inspite of missing a few days, (though that's probably good, because I also improved the telling).

I have everyone down eating breakfast now, though maybe Zak is being miserable in bed.

To be honest, I had forgotten that Wizard posted between you and me and thought that I had posted before you. I dislike to post every other post these days. However, Wizard has pointed out my mistake to me, so I shall be putting up a post in due course.

Quite so, especially if people are actually posting regularly. On the otherhand, if nobody else posts for a long enough time, I'll consider double-posting...

The Dense forest to the south of Pnyx is filled with Ruffians, Unicorns of the 6-legged scaly variety, & at night is filled with Harpies in certain areas. For more information on Harrpies see Slayers Guide under Legendary creatures. In case the picture is not obvious, they look an awful lot like ray-fish. According to Asllops in his Bestiary of Common Beasts, "Unicorn - The massive six legged, single horned reptile is common in the wilds of Cythera. Despite its appearances, it is normally quite harmless, when viewed from a distance. The traveler is advised to leave these behemoths alone."

Speaking of which, the books can be found, as collected by Sfiera, HERE

I've posted. In our usual TSs, we make traveling take way more time than it does in game. This makes more sense for TSs, but in this special more-like-the-game TS, I really wanted the time it takes to get places to be more like the game. In the game it would take only an hour to get from Pnyx to the iron mine, so I figured their distractions and uncertain pace might take it up to three hours. I don't think it would be difficult for me to edit that if others are strongly opposed to it taking that short an amount of time.

For upcoming posts, remember that Jhiaxus does not speak English (and personally I think it would be overpowering our characters to say one of them just happens to speak Seldane), so if they find the metic, they'll have a communication barrier.

Heh, it takes forever to travel if one of your party members decides to get stuck behind a tree. tongue.gif

Well I was all ready to introduce Rasmus into the story before my computer died. Now that I'm back I seem to have missed the Cademia boat, and will have to try to fit him in at the mine.

Since he's on a quest to become a famous playboy, he'll most likely feel out of place at the mine, and want to leave as soon as possible.

I also had a thought about the reward offered for clearing the ghost.

If we wanted to do a tavern type place for these TSs, we could make it so the group gets awarded the purchaseable house in Cademia. This isn't a tavern (and I guess more of a club house) but I think it matches the mood of this type of TS.

Just a thought.

Alright, Rasmus is involved!

And the group can head towards the ghost. I don't remember if there were monsters in that cave, but it was a little maze-like I think.

Your character is all kinds of scary, Jacks :P

I venture my lack of character info has caused you to overlook my character, Feoras. Not that he's all that important, but it does make look like Rasmus is weak with numbers ^_~

There were no monsters inside the iron mine. There were a few different passages, but it's not terribly hard to find Jhiaxus. (The correct passage is to the north, then east). It may take them a few hours though, if they didn't bother to ask the miners which way the ghost was.

Nailed it, 453. I'll fix it right away.

Well as I saw it, the group was trying to get away as fast as possible and so skipped asking the miners.

Also, when Rasmus says he wants to be a playboy he means it more in the sense of been some Big star idol.

And if you haven't read Rasmus's bio and are confused about the Newt bit at the end, he stole a magic harp from (ugh can't remember the name) the magical music guy in Cademia. Rasmus doesn't know it's magical, he just thinks it's a special harp. He also doesn't know how to play it or produce it's mystic powers.

Last thing, Rasmus always tries to be smooth with women, regardless of their physical appearance or any of that. With men, well they're not his prefered company but he tends not to care if they're around him. He will make friends with any gender and he's a nice well-mannered guy in normal situations.

In the game the miners are absolutely no help anyway, so that's no big deal ^_^

I did read the bio, but I still think Rasmus is scary! I guess I should've posted my own character info, I'm just lazy.

Then comes the question, was it a newt or a gecko? Weren't they creepy 6-legged yellow geckos in the game? Not that it makes a difference, in any other fantasy RPG it would be a newt.
