"Must be an Orc or some other vile creature," Talos muttered to himself.
The ghost slowly glided off to another hall going to the right. As Talos followed it, he realized it was some sort of grand hall. There were grand decorations of evil, and the ceiling was unusually high. Far in front of him, a great spiral staircase wove upwards.

Grapper, who was walking on the ceiling right above the ghost, said, "That makes sense."
The ghost looked up, and suddenly Grapper's eyes turned red...
Fanatic realized what was happening, and did something he hadn't done before. (At least in his right mind) Fanatics shadow seemed to peel off the wall and become buffer than before. the Shadow elemental fired a dark blast at the ghost...

Luckily for Talos, the ghost continued up the stairway, followed by Talos, followed by Avatara. The steps became narrower, shorter, and steeper, and Talos began to envy the ghost for its ability to float. After seemingly an eternity of practically climbing increasingly cliff-like steps, the ghost came to the third floor of the tower. The stairway continued further up, but seemed to be designed for more human abilities. The ghost, however, continued forward, away from the stairs, and very soon made a sharp left turn on a hidden corner. Talos, who had been distracted by a grotesque mask, almost didn't see the ghost slip away.
As he left to follow the ghost, Talos realized why he had been distracted by the mask. Masks were hung up all along both the hallway he was in, and the one he had been in. Their eyes were following him, though the effect was considerably freakier now as the hallway was barely wide enough for him.
(I'd prefer the other group doesn't get involved in my part of the story right now, other than perhaps Avatara. If you must follow me, stop on the second floor. It might be interesting there. Don't affect the ghost or do anything that would make me see you.)

Talos's speed allowed him to avoid the same demise as DF but didn't allow him to get in any free shots. After being knicked a few times, he decided to go on the offensive. His blinding attacks were only seen by the clone and appropriatly blocked. The rest of the group could not do anything for the narrow halls made it impossible for them to hurt the clone without hurting Slayer. The battle raged on. The clash of swords could be heard from the fields far beyond the caves they had traversed earlier. The sight was blinding for the speed was so fast, nobody could catch everything. The smells were of sweat and raw determination. After trying to kill the clone with a 4 part combo, Talos's weapon was knocked from his hand. The clone then went on a major offensive and it took the most of Talos to avoid the pointy end of the sword. He then got a lucky kick on the clone's chest, knocking him down several feet away. Talos then ran to DF's body and drew his Iceblade. Though unskilled in using this exact weapon, Talos was a weapons expert and could use this professionally. The clone came back for more when Talos had finally got prepared for the battle. The clash of blade was even faster and louder. The blade he was wielding was strong enough to withstand all attacks without backlashing. After about 20 more minutes of fighting, Talos was exhausted. He decided he would need to finish this quickly or else he was going to lose. He slashed left, then right and then leapt into the air. Upon hitting the ceiling, he flipped around and landed behind the clone. Appearantly the move was too fast for the clone to register because everyone was still looking at the place he stood before. The clone slashed a few times before he realized what happened. By then it was too late. Talos took his opportunity quickly and stabbed deeply into the clone. The sword then reacted and froze the living body. The clone let out an inhuman screech as it fell to the ground. Shaken, Talos dropped the sword. He was so tired that all he wanted to do now was rest. The clone then disintegrated into a puddle of water which quickly evaporated into nothingness. Talos then traversed to DF's body. He forced a potion down DF's throat which immediatly woke him. As he regained his balance, he walked over and shook Talos's hand.
"I only saw a bit" DF started "But what I did see astonished me. He took me completely by surprize. His speed was too damn fast. You kept up with him."
He then frantically searched his person for something
"Where the hell is my sword?" DF asked as he started to look around him
"It is at you feet. I had to use it to defeat your clone" Talos said
"How did you know that was the clone?" DF asked
"The sword was the final clue but I knew it wasn't you beforehand but I couldn't prove it. He used dark magic almost exclusively in the last battle. I know you try to hold off those attacks until absolutely necessary." Talos answered with a smile
"Where is the rest of the group?" DF asked as he started to look for them
"I got the feeling that they didn't need me so I left them for a bit" Talos answered with a slight frown "Are you gonna try to catch them or go along with me?"
"They have enough people. I think you may need more help then they do so I think I'll tag along with you now" DF said as he picked up his sword and sheathed it.
Meanwhile, the other part of the group was having troubles of their own. DF had left them but that was the least of their worries. They then saw, at the end of the hallway,...

...A large room full of mirrors. Both Talos and DF were surprised that they hadn't noticed it before. In fact, Talos could have sworn the hallway had seemed a dead end. They walked forward, with Avatara still tailing them, past more grotesque faces toward the mirrored room.
As they crossed over the threshold to the room, Talos said, "DF, do you know the process of clone making? I learned a little about it when I was studying magic. I remember it involved large numbers of enchanted mirrors, which would duplicate them, and make a shade of them. The shade would become stronger and stronger around the mirrors, absorbing their dark magic and becoming a slave to whoever the mirrors told them, until they were a full duplicate."
DF replied, after they were wholly in the room, "Yes, I do know that manual process, but Slayer's duplicate was made from a book, in some unknown spell. Speaking of, however, I don't think we should be in this room. It's quite possibly - quite definately - a clone making room!"
But it was too late. By the time DF had finished, the entrance to the room had closed with its own mirror. Already, shades of themselves were appearing in the center of the room. They were becoming clearer...

"Destroy the mirrors. We might not be able to stop it this time but we will disable the machine" DF shouted as he cast a fireball.
The fireball hit one of the mirrors and melted it into a pool of reflective glass. He then cast an ice spell at another of the mirrors and froze it. With little effort, he punched the glass and shattered it into millions of pieces.
Talos decided that DF's reasoning was sound enough and went to work towards damaging the glass. His speed allowed him to take out many but his weapon just wasn't suited to breaking glass.
"DF, let me borrow the Iceblade for a few minutes" Talos requested.
DF, seeing no harm in it, tossed the unsheathed blade to Talos. Talos caught it expertly, being sure not to touch the blade. He then used it to smash the mirrors. When it touched the mirrors, it froze them and shattered them all at the same time. After a few minutes of use, Talos was done and ready to face anything. He tossed DF his sword back and drew his scimitar. They then faced off against their clones, who had completed as the warriors destroyed every last mirror...

Avatara turned suddenly and then was thrown across the floor by...Avatara? Talos looked back and forth in horror as the two Avataras decimated the room with their intense battling with fire spells. Talos suddenly was knocked to the ground, appearantly his clone was ready for more.*

Then he spotted the Machine. that was the machine that had cloned him over 20 times, he was sure. Immeadiately, he took his sword out, black sparks shooting out every which way, a black within black. Fanatic held his sword high above his head. he then brought it slicing down and a loud noise of tearing metal. instantly, the remaining clones exploded and at the same time the machine exploded with such force that everyone was flung out of the chamber...
