If I remember correctly, alt-Wizard was going to impersonate the judge, and the "switch" has already happened. I think Katerei also asked that Iannah, her second-in-command, and possibly the female assistant be kept alive for a while longer, though I think they can be used in some way by whoever is adventurous enough to try.

P.S. I actually don't know what's going to happen next, this time. tongue.gif

P.P.S. Three story posts in one day? Is that a new record? ohmy.gif

Synopsis has been updated with the ARK storyline (link). Now there should be no excuse for Wizard to not know what's going on!

Edit: on re-skimming this topic, it seems I completely forgot about Orthrus' amulet. Updated that part of the supporting descriptions.

Hm, drama at the judge's house. Hope Yomu doesn't die, cause then Bryaxis might be stuck in that room for a while. tongue.gif

If there is a fight coming up, I'd like to write in.. something..

QUOTE (Avatara @ Nov 24 2009, 09:52 PM)
Katerei will probably be mad that I used a new post for this, but I wanted to separate out supporting characters from more major characters:

I'm beginning to wonder if you insert my name as a catch-all when you don't have a specific person to complain about.

I'm a little worried about alt-Wizard impersonating the judge, at least at this particular part of the story. Why would he pretend to be a person that is about to be assassinated? (I was under the impression management was at least on good enough terms not to scheme to kill each other.) Did someone forget to tell Iannah and co. that the judge was getting replaced? Could human resources not find Wizard in time to tell him about the murder plot because he was too busy playing with masks?

It's not impossible to work in, but I'm wary of anyone going ahead with it just yet, because at the moment it seems like a ginormous plot hole. Suggestions are welcome.

Katerei, how about this:

Could we say that Alt-Wizard has a part to play in the assassination? By impersonating the Judge he could distract the good guys and whatever friends/attendants the Judge might have, this way lannah and co. can catch their target alone.

We have a question for Shanadar, because he has a decision to make that's probably pretty pivotal for the next step of the SKYBAR encounter. Yomu has a choice too, though Shanadar has more at risk.

The situation: Avatara and Rapierian are attempting to break into the judge's castle. Do you let them pass (and ostensibly join up temporarily to clear out threats from the castle) or do you bar their entry (which would likely lead to a fight)?

The details:
Avatara is a known criminal in Cythera who escaped from justice and has been somewhere on the wanted list for a couple months. This Avatara claims he's a duplicate of the other Avatara, and who knows what that means. However, many guards in Cythera haven't yet bought into the duplicate idea (and it sounds kind of crazy, if you think about it) - though the appearance of alternate Diomede may help lend credence to it.

Rapierian is generally unliked in Cythera, and a prime suspect of the events at Kosha (either working alone or with an accomplice). He's also a party killer. This Rapierian claims he is an alternate (the duplicate card again!), one that has an opposite personality. This Rapierian is claiming to be on the side of justice, completely revolted by the actions of the "vile necromancer", and also the guy who tipped off SKY about the assassination plot to begin with. However, he didn't do so directly, so SKY has no proof of this last claim at the moment (only Forlong's testimonial, should you find and ask him).

Katerei has entered a plea (under duress) to let them past without a fight.

The weapons they are carrying look like they may match with the weapon wounds on the two dead guys at Anisa's house.

What would Shanadar do next? Keep in mind that letting them go in could be construed as "aiding known criminals" by the Cademian guard, and any witnesses they encounter.

I'm not certain whether there will actually be an assassination attempt on the Judge or not. If there is one, it will be staged.

I just hope Shanadar yells "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" and waves his staff around like a maniac.

Have Shanadar/Yomu bar the entrance of the intruders and then have Yomu/Shanadar go inside and give a signal if AR were correct in saying there was trouble.

At this point a fight between SK/Y and AR would most likely result in Beorn's escape as well.

Yomu would most likely not want to waste time and therefore go with the suggestion above. If no one was willing to wait and tough it out with AR, he would resort to letting them pass or stay behind himself, figuring if the fight's gonna come it might as well be after they find out if the judge is all right.

I don't know if Avatara would be inclined to wait very long, especially since earlier that very day Beorn pulled the "you wait and I'll let you know" stunt. The longer they wait, the more danger they feel alt-K is in. So if you send someone inside and have someone bar the door, you're weakening your odds (Kat probably won't fight, Beorn is a question mark, and either S or Y are inside).

Wasting time battling SKY is also not productive from the AR point of view, they'd most likely look for the first opening and then break past and leave behind their opponents. But at least then you'd have the excuse that you tried to stop them.

Ultimately its up to you guys what you pick, just letting you know what the likely response would be.

The simplest solution appears to be to stage a fight, let AR break through, & "chase" them into the shadows (being sure to lock the gate) -that's if they decide to trust them.

Then they would have to believe that someone is watching them, and somehow be tipped off that this person is related to the normal Cythera and that it's important they don't look like they're aiding criminals.

That may take more time than they think they have. tongue.gif

In a city like Cademia it's hard to believe that someone's -not- watching you.

I'll be hopping back in shortly, just need to read and catch up tomorrow. The plan so far is that Alt-Radik should be coming through the portal, either as a commander in Alt-Wizard's forces or as one of Alt-Wizard's "right-hand" guys.

Hopefully, Wizard/Selax will read this and be in IRC tomorrow tongue.gif

Okay finally caught up. Few things I need to double check before I post though. (Double post seemed more normal than to just edit this into my previous post)

As far as Kosha goes, I think it should be under alt-Radik control by the end of day seven.

Through talks via IRC, it appears that Alt-Radik's loyalties would best fit with alt-Selax. Speaking of Selax, didn't you say you'd be online more this week? tongue.gif

Also: Rythan, I need to know what your plans for Jacob are, as alt-Radik should most likely discover him during the military invasion of Kosha.

I'll be writing the next continuation post for SKY and the Berossus situation, unless anyone has an objection.

Might take a week for me to get it done though, since I have finals.

I think it's nessesarry for one of my characters for Selax and Wizard PM some info on their alts' plans.

Since both Selax and Wizard have given up on Cythera for WoW, I can try BSing an answer for you on their behalf if it helps with your posting.

Dark, Two Jacks: It'd be easiest to answer your questions over IRC. I'll try to be on tomorrow afternoon and evening. However, if you prefer, you could try sending me a PM.

If you're intending to post in the next 24 hours, or are unable to post but have ideas on what you want to have happen, please let me know (either here or via pm). I'm going to start working on a post tomorrow to hopefully get us out of this stalemate (and possibly even into the next phase for the story).
