If alt-Selax could just leave Cythera, he would have done so at once and the story would have been quite different. If memory serves, in some irc discussions some months ago, I (at least I think it was me) came up with the idea that alt-Selax needed the Crolna to be able to enter the Void. Presumably, this need is due to the disruption in the Void created by the linking of the two Cytheras or due to some other technical reason.
