I might be able to later; actually, I downloaded the ACE editor to create a character strong enough to do the Strongholds (without having to level up or do a lot of quests such) to aid me in the TS, but I haven't gotten around to doing it...

EDIT: Hmm, I don't think that Rapierian will be joining the group outside: he'll remain hiding inside.

On the subject of camping, I'm okay with the idea (the camp posts are fun and a good place to develop characters), but I seem to recall that the reason that they were cut out of RE and YD (and perhaps even WH) is the fact that half of the TS time was being spent just reaching the quest area and TSs were becoming lots of little short posts that didn't move the story forward. (That and YD simply would've taken too long if all of the traveling were included and Omen's Return, a similar TS, cut it out, so...) I think that this was with more recent TSs when participation was more of a problem; I'm not certain about the older TSs?

Can you post a link to the editor? Google turned up too many different possibilities.

Am I being greedy if I want to introduce a new character to the TS? (Well, two new characters.) It would work better than introducing them to the Tavern. I would have to introduce said characters before the group gets into the stronghold, preferably 'tonight'.
Keeping in mind that I already have three characters in the TS already...

And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

If you think you can handle it, go for it. Speaking from experience, though, you should be careful about overweighting a TS, and yourself. I had to have a big long debate with myself before bringing along the three that I did, this time. :P

I think I can. But she won't do much, and might even be a hindrance. In any case, her cuteness rivals Retsy's.

I'm an idiot, what am I? I was looking in the Cytheran Praise topic!
Up and running, if she needs to go I can have a bug suddenly appear in the camp or something.

CrazyChick, here are my thoughts on your new character:

Pros:
Enna is about twice as tall as Silver. (I'm not sure why that's a pro, but there you have it!)
Retsy can now be shown that she's obviously not a sorceress. (hopefully)

Cons:
How did Enna manage to learn the human tongue of Cythera?[ed]I'm going to assume that it's psychoverbal communication. : D[/ed]
Lack of self control in using powerful magic is not cute. : (

[EDIT]This should probably be taken as Silver's point of view, in which magic is troublesome at best, and searingly painful in general.[/EDIT]

As far as how she learned to speak we can just assume it was the magic. You have to remember that this is a story, if we were going for realism then, by rights, Rythan should not know the language spoken in Cythera either.

Lack of magic control can range from cute (every disney movie ever) to horrifying (Akira anyone). That just depends on how CC writes it, and I believe she is going for cute.

Anyway CC I thought the post was great, I was trying to figure out how to bring some of my creatures to the TS (and whether I should) but you've done that for me, and done it well.

Some of you may be starting to wonder about Rythan so I'll start my next post. I have torn myself between wanting to be realistic and wanting to get back before camp is over. *shrug* I'll figure it out.

Side effect of magical earthing.

Actually, it can be. I'm going to write it cute. And the effects are more funny than dangerous, most of the time.
It also happens only when she is stressed or upset, and the effects vary as to who she thinks is causing her to be stressed/upset. Say for instance a skeleton was trying to kill her, it would probably get knocked backwards or turned into something harmless, whereas a bug would quickly become a large crater. Also, as she gets older, her self-control increases, so there is less chance of magical happenings.

Enna is not skilled at consciously controlling her magic, but on the sub-conscious level she is quite powerful. Hence, apparently random effects.
Thanks, I think I understand better now.

Well, he's not arriving yet; he only just set out. I was thinking he'd show up after the group had already re-entered the stronghold and gotten embroiled in a fight.

Quick Note

Rythan cannot communicate telepathically at all, so when everyone else gets their messages he won't be exactly sure what happened until someone tells him.

It's a trait from his race which, on the other side of the coin, gives him an extremely high resistance to telepathic energies.

So, this isn't a linear teleport maze? Each of the 'ports has several possible locations, depending on exactly where you're standing?

Or maybe the location to which the port sends you switches, so that if they'd all gone in together, they would've all turned up in the same place.

I wrote what I wrote; make of it what you will. ;)

Since the story seemed to have stalled, I was just looking for something new to challenge the group a bit, and maybe stir up a few imaginations. The maze was all I could think of. :P
