That's awesome for you. I suppose I could carry an equivalent amount, too, if I borrowed a pair of many-pocket cargo pants from my boyfriend. I can't, however, do so in any of the girls' pants I own and prefer to wear...hence the shoulderbag. Although I like carrying my backpack, too -- my iBook doesn't fit in my shoulderbag. :P
*do, not does

I suppose it's a gift. Or something in the water.

Actually there were more feminitely styled 'combats' (irish name) which tightened somewhat at the arse but had all the pocket space above the knee, you could wear those... only problem is that come in colour schemes of somewhat gay to ultra gay and a load of tassles

I don't. I wear good ole' blue jeans.

Maybe it's because I wear jackets with plenty of pockets.

"Cargo pants for girls," yes...but I still prefer my jeans. When I don't have a bag with me, they can fit wallet, cell phone, keys, chapstick, hair elastics/clips, change, pen, and bus pass/random paper. When I wear cargos and fill the pockets, I always feel like my pants are going to fall down from the weight. :P

... what is it with everyone apparently keeping every single one of their personal belongings in their pockets? I have several pairs of comfy jeans which I wear 95% of the time. In the left pocket, I have my keyring and phone, in the right pocket, I have my wallet, loose change and iPod. That's it. If I'm travelling, the bit of paper with train times gets shoved into a back pocket, but that's it.
If I need to carry anything else, I have a nice backpack which I can sling my iBook/writing pad/etc in... but I have been known to attend meetings with just the iBook tucked under one arm.

I just like travelling light...

There's a downside to lots of places to put things, like forgetting where you put your most important stuff. When I go backpacking in the summer, I bring about twenty different items (clothes, food, tent, etc.), but I never seem to find any matches when I absolutely need them.

I've never owned a pair of cargo pants. Around 90% of the time I wear my trusty standard Carhartt blue jeans, and the other 10% of the time I wear Dockers.

If I have my pants, my watch, my badge, and my eyeglasses, I'm good to go. No backpack, no phone, no laptop, no iPod, no purse, no PDA, no briefcase, nada. Add anything onto those necessities and I'm overprepared for whatever comes up. Add in the Pathfinder, and I have everything I could ever need except for a gun and an internet connection.

Wow, it must be like living in the fifties... or better yet: Scooby Doo do you drive around in an A-Team Van and have adventures? [It's probably worth mentioning at this point that i cant remember whether a pathfinder is (a) a kind of Land Rover or (:P a global positioning system of some sort]
I wonder how long it will be before they make some sort of crappy A-team remake film...

Why are males with long hair stigmatised?

Despite being #1 in my high school class, whenever I meat someone new in school including faculty and administrators I am always treated like I am stupid or a stoner. While my short-haired friends are not.

Join the club. My hair is not nearly as long as yours and people still call it long. I also am though to be a stoner or stupid. Just pity them.

Because guys with long hair make better lovers and all the short-haired guys are jealous?

I think that just means that you happen to look like you're a stoner. Once upon a time, I was acclaimed for looking remarkably like some sort of hyper-intelligent attorney. Now that I've stopped getting haircuts/trimming my beard, I am acclaimed for looking like some sort of hyper-intelligent philosopher (which I happen to be, philosophy major at least), even though I personally think I look more like a homeless person. I think what it boils down to is that other people's impressions are usually strange and probably shouldn't be worried about.

I used to have longish hair, but when I got it cut I realised what a ######ing dork I looked like with it. Now I have kinda blond highlighted hair (by saltwater, not bleach, I'm not gay), which pretty much looks like a shorter version of what it does in that stupid Britney Spears pic. But with more blond streaks. I am currently the happiest I have been with my hair for a long time.

Highschool guys shouldn't have long hair, except occasionally like Heath whatsisface in 10 Things. The simple fact is that if you get a decent short haircut, you'll never grow it out again. The reason most kids have their hair long is because they can't be bothered to get it cut, in case it turns out bad, and then once you have "long hair" it's very hard to cut it all off - as well as a certain emotional attachment it also tends to lean towards a situation where you end up being classed "one of the ones with long hair". Cutting it is a big step, it's like a complete image change. But man, long hair is *such* a hassle. It gets in the way, you can't wear sunglasses very well with it, when you swim you have to tie it back... it sucks.

And don't be fooled by the one girl who says she likes your long hair. She doesn't, she's just being nice.

One of the hottest outfits on a girl is like Jennifer Anniston wears in Along Came Polly, with a tight t-shirt top, maybe two of them, and big big baggy cargo pants. Tight top and baggy trousers is really hot. Maybe even Ug boots, or round toed Adidases if we're really going for it.

I'd have to disagree with you Jamin. i look much better with long hair then short. With my hair short, my head looked very small in comparison to the rest of my body. In addition, since my hair is incredibly curly like a 'fro almost, I get lots of girls that come up to me and ask if they can touch it, and end up getting a girl running her fingers all through my hair. 8)

I'll agree with your asessment, but would like to point out how I don't fit into what you refer to as "most kids." I could be bothered to get my hair cut, but I've made a decision to not do so as haircuts both cost entirely too much money for what you get as hair continues to grow regardless of how great your haircut looks, and take up entirely too much time. Once upon a time, I'd get a haircut twice a month at a cost of $7 per session, and wasting at least an hour of my time per visit (usually more). Now, I've not gotten a proper haircut in around two and a half years. I've saved at least 210 dollars and a bare minimum of 60 hours of my life. Granted, not all that much, but you can't tell me you wouldn't bother to bend down to pick up $210 on the street or wouldn't jump at the chance to have the next three days designated to nothing but free time to spend your free $210. Of course, this is all possible because I couldn't care less about my apperance or whether I'm classified as a "long-haired person."

It does get in the way from time to time (especially when it's windy out), but I can't imagine how it would interfere with the wearing of sunglasses as it doesn't interfere with my wearing of regular glasses or having to be tied back while swimming. I actually like the sensation of having a trail of long hair while swimming.

Last weekend my little sister's boyfriend decided to cut his formerly long hair. Through a pathetic series of events, I had to leave work and drive her from school to where her boyfriend was instead of being at school (yes, odd, but I try to not ask questions). When she saw him without his hair, she began to cry because she actually did love his long hair (he does look better with short hair, though). This only serves to prove that there are a few females out there who do like the long-haired look, regardless of what you say. :P

Not much of a leg man I see. ;) I'm going to go with a fitted, fuzzy sweater and jeans in winter, and a comforable-looking t-shirt and jeans (not baggy, but not necessarily skin-tight) in summer as being my favorite look. Why, I can't imagine.
