I just had an audition for All-state...and I'll say I think it went pretty well. I'm so excited! So anyway..Who plays an instrument? For how long have you been playing? What music are you working on? And who are your favorite composers for your instrument?

I know I'm a nerd..but indulge me! :P

I play trumpet and a bit of piano. I may take up Bass.

I'm not that good at trumpet anymore because I'm too lazy to practice.

You never said what you played. Do tell.

YOU FREAKING ROXOR

The only instruments I could play successfuly were Trombone and Guitar, and neither too well. I wish so much I could play instruments better. But jazz...is so amazingly cool. Definately dig the Parker. And Miles....man oh man he could make that trumpet sing. My moms Cousin, Paul Chambers, actually played with Miles Davis. As for classical, Im definately a lover of Mendelssohn, and Opera, mainly Verdi and Bizet. Yeah...Im definately a nerd. OH! I can play harmonica and a mean cow bell :P .

Flute.

As for favorites:

Euro Metal, Classical, Opera, World/International, Instrumental, Techo/Electronica/Dance, Oldies from about the 1950s forward, Country, Rock, Metal, New Age, Chants (ie Tibetian Monk etc) and some kinds of jazz. Too much jazz gets on my nerves... I was totally raised on Classical. Nothing better in the world. I love pretty much any classical music, in fact I'm listening to the Overture from Carmen right now.

Metal is probably what I listen to second: Nightwish, Rammstein etc.

Ah man I could go on forever...
Can you imagine if I was deranged?

I played the viola for just under nine years and was very good, I just never had the drive to do anything with my talent (for example, try out for All State) which really dissapointed my long-time orchestra teacher which began to put me off of playing. I zipped up the case on my viola a week before I graduated from high school and haven't opened it since.

I used to be able to play passable cello and violin, I could almost play the piano, and I was almost ok on the electric bass once upon a time. I can also play hand drums and xylophones pretty well, but who can't.

I'm still much better than most at music theory, though.

Oh, and I play the Bassoon and a bit of piano once in a while.

Does voice count?
