Actually, there is a notable difference between endgame seventy and endgame sixty. Sure, it still involves running a lot of dungeons if you want to do the big PvE grind, but they did improve significantly on the largest pitfalls of the old endgame world.
As a matter of fact, the vast majority of the outland content I've seen is a better implementation of the old WoW content - more variety when questing (bombing runs anyone?), less running across half the zone to reach your objective (most of the time, the quest objective is about a minute's ride away, if not less), less time running back from the graveyard (with a couple exceptions, Blade Edge's Mountains has stupid graveyard placement, Zangarmarsh is okay once you get access to the Sporeggar's faction's graveyard, which is takes three or so easy quests), the "world pvp objectives" are less useless (its not 'sandlol', there are benefits to the objectives), instances are broken up a bit (no more six hour BRD runs to get attuned, longest run I've had was 90 minutes for three bosses so far, and that was with our tank going afk for 15), rep is much easier to earn, and so on. Also, PvPing in the level 70 world is a bit different as well, so a bit more options. Sure, its not the perfect end-all game, but there is a significant improvement between endgame at 70 and endgame at 60.
Certainly some people will get tired of the game over the next few months and move on, but they're also still getting new players into the game. Thus, I still doubt the Burning Crusade will be any kind of major disappointment for Blizzard.
