It has been the life of ATT. It has kept us coming back when all else failed. It cannot go on indefinitely.

How long will it last? How long should it last? How many posts will there be?

... or has ankhwatcher created the unkillable topic?

It'll probably die now. Thanks a lot. Sheesh.

Nah, it'll be around for months. More months.

As long as time itself, or some point between then and now.

How big was the largest topic on the B&B?

That seems to indicate that ATT people have far more endurance than their EVBB counterparts.

I don't know which is worse, Katana talking to an imaginary Taz, or Avarara talking to himself.

I think that topic will be around as long as ATT survives. Killing this topic will make ATT less resistant to dying altogether.

Or that B&Bers know when to let something die.
For the most part.

No, we don't know when to kill something/let it die. That's why SA is here.

Hmm... how big of a variable is it? Will #32768 break it? #65536?

I have seen that your "number of new messages" number can go negative. There for a while mine was, until somebody (probably Mu with the explanation... or was she the one that broke it?) zeroed it. I think it was Tripps' PM that did that.... and my redundant clicking. Are the boards really that slow?

Do you reckon you people could get it up to 9999?

9999 seems an odd limit for variables. Then again, maybe it will cap at 9999 until we find the ultimate ATT weapon granting us a limit break.

I do recall hearing some time ago about a board that had a topic with well over 20,000 posts though.

9999 hit points is the Starcraft limit.

Well, then we have something to shoot for. And why are we all talking about it like it's over or something? This is ATT, we never die. :P

I've spoken with the admin on my other board many times about these things. He's no PHP guru, but I asked him to look at the code and see if there was any limit. He did, and the php on these powerboards will show any number of posts or topics that can be there. But I think we will top out when we fill the servers.

If it dies... i think it'll be because we have all moved on. Although I'm sure we can recruit some more people into here so they can pass on the legacy. I suppose that is why I was recruited into here in the first place. GAH! Brainwashers! Oh well.
