hi im a long time lurker first time poster

I recently started playing cythera again after a two year absence and while undertaking a murderout rampage in cademia i was somehow transported to a peculiar screen filled with disembodied shapes and also a stationary guard sprite who had omen's portrait...

and yes i was sober at the time




i thought i might post a few screenshot to see what you make of it

Sorry about this but im having some trouble with the attatchments option i keep trying to upload the screenshots in both gif and pict format below the size limit but all i get is error responses. Has this happened to anyone before?

I remember a few people talking about this but it happened from something to do with a bed down in one of the mountains. It took them to a room that Omen was standing in and you cant do anything there, I cant remember how to egt there but it should be in the archives.

It was discussed in this topic. Were you able to talk to the guard/Omen?

I don't know if anyone else has this but every so often i sort of go through a Cythera phase where ill blow the cobwebs off the game and start playing even though I previously thought id squeezed every last drop of enjoyment out of it. In the case of this bizarre Omen 'room' or 'area' around the start of this year i booted cythera up again and was playing round with a hacked character just exploring the island and stuff, when at some stage while i took a break and started murdering people randomly in cademia.

What i've found in the past is that if you kill people in their sleep every so often they turn into an inanimate object like a pot plant instead of a corpse and on this occasion i murdered a character i now can't remember and when i stepped onto the bed to try and drag out the body i was teleported to what looked like a screen fractured with dozens of different wall floor and mountain pics and with the 'stronghold' music playing in the background.

Before this happened i'd already read that post you just linked to and i'd just dismissed it as either crack induced ramblings or impossible to duplicate. However now that its happened to me im not sure about the impossible to duplicate bit.

When this happened i immedietly saved the game and took screenshots and typed up a short explanation to post here (my first entry on this topic) but shortly after my Cythera binge ended and i again lost interest in the game. A few days ago i started playing again and decided someone might be interested in this just for the sheer novelty value so i copied my year old explanation and pasted it at the start of the topic.

The irritating thing about this is that i now cant remember who i killed or under what circumstances it was, all i know is that somehow it led to me ending up on this distorted screen with a guard sprite who said nothing but had 0men's face in his text box. If a mod or someone is intested it be happy to email them the pics to post as im completely technically inept


but yeah anyhow its nice to see the board still flourishing and it just goes to show the quality of the fanbase

1. Those picture types might not be supported (only certain extensions are allowed and the error message isn't all that descriptive when you mess up, if you get an error message, sometimes it just reloads the page - sans your attachment). Have you tried .jpg?

2. The individual size might be too big. If the picture itself is over 400k or something like that it will not upload, and give you a weird error saying your global size isn't enough (not true, its the individual attachment size which isn't clearly stated). If this is the case, aside from reducing the quality a bit with something like GraphicConverter to trim the size down, not sure how to fix it - aside from hosting it on an external website and linking to here.

Well, I have experienced the exact same thing, but for me, I got warped from beneath Pnyx. I saved there, but accidentally saved over it immediately (of course )

Anyway, it's a weird place. A cool bug though.

Exactly that! It is really weird, but also cool! But you should have added more on the pic. The caption of the window, for example. The place is called "Untitled". Weird.

I've never heard of anything like this before.
Then again, I have never gone on killing sprees before, so I wouldn't know would I?
