My guess is, its like Coldstone. They haven't fully abandoned the project yet, but with a whole bunch of other things to do that require more immediate attention (like the new games coming out, fixing holes in forum software, etc.), its just a really low priority. That, and gandreas probably hasn't been that inclined to work on it with all the other projects he has.

I think it's still on. I meen if it was canceled even the slitest bit Andrew would tell us.
Also I suffered a major heart attack by just reading half of the first post if it was canceled I'd propably die!~ :erk: ( :P )

An official word has been posted on the update to Coldstone:

Hello-
We don't have anyone dedicated to the project at this time.

We have worked on it in house m but we have not been able to dedicate an engineer to it.

Is it dead - not officially, but it is on life support.

I'm pretty sure Cythera X is in the same boat, we just don't have official word for it.

I'd be inclined to agree, quite tragic really.

Yes, yes, yes I want CytheraX! I hate having to wait for classic to faff around getting ready when i've only got half an hour to play. It takes nearly a minute, and i can't wait that long!!!!!
Having a Cythera 2 sounds really cool. Maybe Alaric could be having more problems with house Comana or something, and you have to come back to solve them. I don't know...

I agree with CrazyChick – although I don't have much of a problem with speed in classic, Cythera X or Cythera 2 would be a triumph :P

Indeed, Cythera X would be nice. What would be really great would be a Cythera 2...

One great reason for Cythera X is that a lot of people (like me) may have a classic computer to use for Cythera, but aside from those who don't, old computers wear down and die. Now by that time I don't suppose all the Cythera users who have a classic computer will forget about Cythera and not care about it, will they? Certainly not me, for one. And as Intel computers don't have classic at all, unless Cythera X is made, we're all doomed.

AHEM... back on track now... I liked Cythera, even though I only played it once because I didn't really get it... but that's what happens when you don't play a game for long enough... Cythera X or Cythera 2, I really don't care, as long as it happens...

Yep, they would both be a great idea. How about Cythera 2 on OSX?
