...but Ambrosia, being unable to further upgrade the current UBB software, is moving to an InvisionBB system. They have a script to attempt to move all the topics, user accounts, and other information over - and andrew is aiming for this week to be "zero hour", well... "zero week". So, if the boards drastically undergo a change in appearance, try not be too alarmed.

Also realize that this is a script written for just this purpose, ASW had to pay for one since it didn't come by default (and besides, this is a modified BB board, so any conventional scripts would need modification anyway), so there may be some bugs and stuff to work out after the transition. Please be patient through this process, and prepare to embark on a journey of drastic proportions.

We use Invision 1.3 for our internal communications at work, and it's not too bad. The upcoming version 2 looks like it's got some nice new features, too.

Oh yeah, good point - Invision's ranks are based on post counts. Moki could always make creative use of the 'warning' system, though.

I dont much see ranks, but I do quite enjoy member numbers, just for amusement, and COLORS. This also seems a bit more open and freerange, and has guided me to posting more than usual today

Do you know if Andrew is planning on reskinning the board? We have a graphic design student on staff that made over the Green Dragon for us. I was going to attach a screenshot, but permissions on the upload directory are incorrectly set (although I'd be surprised if attachments were allowed, anyway. Perhaps Andrew just hasn't disabled the feature yet?)

I do believe they're intending to change the scheme. If you look at the skin options on the main index, there's a "test" skin that doesn't show up on the other forums I visit using this board type.

Andrew and Tom did also mention its going to take a while to tweak everything until it feels just right. (for example, the "karma system" needs fixing as well, though that's a simple fix)

Okay, the test scheme appears to be identical, but its existence suggests some admin is playing around with something. I can't find the original WR quote from andrew implying he'd work on the skins.

I rather like the member number info. It lets you know, in no uncertain term, who joined when. I enjoyed my karma like everyone else did, but I also hated the whole concept, esp when those with highest karma were generally friends of the moderators. I personally am glad its gone and hope it stays that way, though I doubt it will.
