You know, it's odd, but it seems my post count's gone down by about 100.

Everyone's seem to have dropped, I lost about 600, some people lost a lot more. I'm not sure how it happened - someone said the Nova and Uplink board implosion caused it, but I never really posted there. And it doesn't seem to be an outdated database cache, because you haven't made that many posts in the last two months.

Maybe it was something when they were converting the boards. The old board was so heavily modded that they had to create a script to transfer stuff over, and perhaps something got misread or mistranslated.

OK, found a bug: If you attempt to post in a topic without first logging in, it taked you to a log in screen. Every time I've done that, it then informs me that I don't have permission to reply to that topic. It persists until I return to the main forum listing. Workaround: make sure you log in first thing, every time.

Is Ambrosia going to move the archives?

That one is frustrating, and why quite a few people haven't posted yet (complaining about not having permission to post and such). I just don't log out, but my computer isn't a public one, so I have that luxury.

And here I was wondering why the boards were still down... :P
That's what you get for bookmarking the direct link to the boards, I guess... oh yah, and for not checking in on a regular basis. ^^

You know, Cache, I also have a lowered post count, but only by about 50.

Cool the boards are back up again, they have been for a while but Ambrosia just made it so that if you go to the old ones it takes you here and I had the last forums bookmarked. I like the way that the new forum is but I liked the colour that was used in the Cythera part before than I like it now, they were more exciting before.

Colors are definitely being worked upon, as mentioned in many places.

And yeah, before the redirection, the old boards threw me for a loop until my brother figured it out. Guess he can be useful at times. :P

Probably not worth it to bother. The post count now reflects the number of posts on these boards (including Nova/Uplink, so people, please stop spreading BS about they solely screwed it up). Deleted posts, and apparently archived posts, were not carried over, so they weren't counted - whereas they were in the old board system.

There's also likely another unknown factor or two.

Not that it matters much either.
On the plus side, I get to have another evil postcount. ^^ If I ever manage to post that much, that is. :P

Heh, post counts going up or down *is* the fix. Previously, reported post counts were out of sync with the actual number of posts, and now it's fixed. On the other hand, if the archives get brought back in, they should go up a bit for those who posted in those topics.

Great, now I have to rewrite all my webspidering software. Oh well, at least the new versions will work with the MT forums as well.

[edit] and by the same token, dread web-bot antaresia will now work here. Fear. :P

A valid question. Are they gone for good? Will they be remade?

Dunno, I sure hope their content will reappear somewhere, but there's a million things that people are demanding get tweaked or fixed, so it may take some time to find out. Bring it up in the Ambrosia Banter and the people in charge might take notice.

Personally, I hope the topics there can be saved - after all, that's why they were archived. :P
