My best mate's girlfriend has a lip piercing (and is a member of the 10% I mentioned above) and, while I don't believe that she has had any problem with it screwing up her teeth, it did get infected right after she had it put in (the mouth is the dirtiest part of the human body) which wouldn't be so bad except that it spread to her lymph nodes which caused her to miss a good two weeks of school.
If forge was floating around I'm sure that he could enlighten you on all the dangers, problems, and bonuses of any kind of piercing, tattoo, or more extreme body modification that you can imagine, but he isn't, so you're out of luck.

So, I've been thinking about getting some type of piercing for a while now. And I think I've settled on my labret. That would be the lower part of the lip, for those who dont know. I've heard that those piercings eat away at the enamle of your teeth? Does anyone know anything about this? If you do, please tell.
1. My editorial: Don't do it. Lip piercings do not look good at all. The end.
2. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that a lip piercing will rub against the enamel of your teeth and damage it over time. You know, I think I heard about something called googal or something that can be used to find information.

And no, don't get the piercing. It'll be great until you try to get into the real world (i.e. not working for pizza hut.) Why have a hole that you're just going to have to patch up later?

Well, my gf Ally seems to love it. She said she's melt if I got it.
And when Ally and you call it quits? Then you have a big hole in your mouth, and a stupid looking piece of metal sticking out of it.

Heh, yeah - there aren't too many that would enjoy doing that in the first place.
Now with a piercing? You must be crazy.

Speaking of which, if you want someone to talk to about piercings, talk to Hannah (Floozy on the boards). Or you could come on #ev3 and wait for forge to come online, who is basically an enormous database of information about piercings and other body modifications.
But anyway, don't listen to anyone who says your piercing idea is disgusting. Or a good idea, for that matter. It's your body, and your decision. Don't let anyone else's opinion sway you from what you want to do.

I've yet to see anyone with a lip piercing who looks attractive.
I think Floozy is quite attractive, but I'm probably biased...

What does sticking metal into power outlets have to do with getting a lip piercing? Unless you were insinuating that light types of body modification like that are somehow incredibly dangerous... but I think even you are smarter than that.

Someone who warns you not to put metal in power outlets does so in the interest of your safety. Since the person is trying to help you, it might be a good idea to listen.
When someone warns you not to get a lip piercing, they are generally doing so in the interest of trying to stop you from making a total ass of yourself. To totally ignore them and just follow through on your capricious whim is a bad idea.
