That's just not a valid comparison. When you stick metal into power outlets, the results are always bad, and safety is always compromised. However, when you get a lip piercing, the results are dependant on people's opinions, and safety is as forge said so aptly. Therefore, I can in good conscience encourage someone to get a lip piercing if that's what they really want to do, whereas I wouldn't encourage anyone to stick metal into a power outlet no matter if they wanted to or not.

Apples and oranges.

Maybe so, but it certainly applies in this case.

I think you need a better analogy. You're trying to compare something like getting sick after eating too much cake to injesting a truckload of raw eggs and dying of a disease. There's a difference; one is definately bad, the other possibly bad, but that depends on your perspective (sure, you run the chance of getting sick, but hey - you get to eat lots of nice sweet cake).

It's more like a diabetic eating a truckload of cake and going into a seizure.

How about those of us who are argumentative stop being argumentative, and those among us who aren't, start being argumentative. Then we can all yell at each other about being/not being argumentative and bake some really nice pies for all the Canadians. That would be peachy keen, I tell you what. Posted Image

However, people espousing that thought generally seem to be overly concerned with letting others know it. The people who really believe that never or rarely say anything to others speaking one opinion or another.

I don't know about that, I'm sure that ol' Pikey is planning something that, when it is put into action, will first crush dude3 then will grind him into a fine powder. Our only hope is that we will be standing behind a large rock when it hits, lest we be similarly pulverized by the anti-stupidity rays of the greater North American Pikeman. Posted Image
