It's a fun browser game, like Planetarion, only a lot better. You get to trade, have proper alliances, conquer or capture planets and build empires!
If you join, sign up for my alliance the Free Trade Union. As said, it concentrates on safe and profitable trade for fast economic growth. Alliance tag is FTU.
One reason I didn't name the alliance EVA or ARES was that these alliances have both failed, probably due to the fact that they were based solely on ASW members.

Get a calculator, and look at the import prices for everything (this assumes people you export to aren't infiltrating you). Divide the total money you receive by the number of things that are imported. Do this to every single product. The ones with high values are sincere traders, the ones with low values are not making much profit, ergo, they are trying to infiltrate you!
Another thing, all my planets have authoritarian governments. I don't see why everyone thinks that democratic is the best way to go.

I may be getting a 6th planet soon, but first I need another money tick for the extra million to scan for infils.
Actually, one of my tactics is to have a large amount of trade going, where you're exporting. Of course, there's a lot of "sincere trade" going to me, because I have 1033 imports ( ) but I don't suspect them any less.
CA: Democratic is better. Go to trading relations, and select any planet. Take what it shows you as the production cost, subtract 5000, and multiply by the amount you're exporting. You'd be making that much more money if you'd never used authoritarian.
And Pyro, about your sigŅ to be perfectly honest, you can. Anyone who

Cares and

Is in a position to do something about it
would consider _you_ a newbie and wouldn't stop it.

Looking at the production costs makes me wish I had never changed to Authoritarian, but looking at the infiltration costs I have saved by not needing them makes me sigh in relief.

The big problem is that you only get 1 AdmiNexus, and therefore only get decreased scan costs around one of your starting planets - I don't have that problem so much, as all of my planets are in the same region (the furthest between them is 3). I would really recommend that you use 1 of your starting planets to make money, and the other to expand. The money-planet will get taken, inevitably, but you'll have a strong core empire that most people will lack. Oh, and then you can trade with yourself, so you really don't need scans.

I'm considering free trade and opening my doors to all (even 1 importers). Sure, my planet will get taken over, but in the meantime, I will station a destroyer and accompanying armies over the planet.

Well, I did just explain to you over AIM how I took over (by infiltration) a planet that had 8 dessies in orbit, with 10 armies loaded, and only 1 on the ground.
Well, I know you're method and I don't think my plan covers for it... therefore.. I have... a more devious plan!
All my systems are fairly close-knit, and the maximum travel time to and from is only 3 hours. If trouble strikes, I'll buy way more Xillor destroyers than I can seriously consider upkeeping . Like what the top players do but on a smaller scale...

As for how to take planets like I did:

Make sure that the time you take the planet is a time you can be on. If you're offline when it's taken, you'll almost certainly fail

When the planet is taken, immediately raise Stasis.

Telep enough armies to cover for whatever they can throw against you.

Buy some fleets if you have spare money.

Force the fleet to attack.
Here's how it would work:
The armies you teleped in will not activate for 2h - if the stasis field wasn't up, the planet could be retaken right before they'd activate. The fleets you buy will arrive for the first tick.
When you force the fleet to attack, it doesn't autodrop armies.
Since it doesn't involve your forces before you take the planet, Stealth Comm will keep the takeover completely anonymous.
A word of advice: Don't fly alliance tags until the planet's secure; they're guaranteed to notice if you fly them before.

But haven't you stopped to wonder exactly what player amasses 70k ground power on his planets? An extremely powerful one.
Pallas, I'm just about to launch my debut action into the world of sneaky infiltration-takeovers. Pigeon_Coup: Ground power 10k, space power 25k. I'm going to teleport in 4 armies (mixture of Xillor and Azterk) from each planet in my empire. This will total 28 armies on the planet's surface. I am going to then raise stasis and began al la battle. Of course, by the time you read this, it will probably be over, and I expect a... difficult victory.

Somehow I managed to keep it, even with 150K space attacking (8 TransGA).
The most annoying part was when another player blockaded my main 2 planets with 10K scouts. They were PEEC, I just have to wonder...
