(continued from part seven)
The golden demon's voice booms through the cavern. "YOU HAVE PLEASED THE DEMON MIDAS."
"Don't you mean 'displeased'?" Hector says. Grapper says, "ssh!"
"NO. I DON'T GET MANY VISITORS. IN RETURN FOR YOUR COURTESY I WILL GRANT YOU ONE WISH."
Grapper says, "OK. We wish to go back to the future. But preferably not back to the desert. It would be very convenient for us to stay in Kosha."
"…I SHOULD MENTION THAT I CAN ONLY GRANT WISHES OF THE FORM 'I WISH SO-AND-SO WAS MADE OF GOLD'."
Grapper thinks for a minute.
"OK, we wish that, until we are back in our own time, we ourselves will be made of gold."
Hector says, "I don't think that's such a good—"
"YOUR WISH IS GRANTED." Hector and Grapper become gold statues.
"—idea." Hector stops and looks around. They're in the future again but they aren't in the golden cavern anymore. "Where are we?"
Grapper says, "We've been stolen!"
