I wouldn't classify LotR as a "super-long" fantasy series. It's only 480k words, which is like a book and a half in some other series. :P

Any word from TJ?

LotR inspired that? Maybe the series is more worthwhile than I realized. Out of curiosity, am I the only one who hasn't just finished reading a super-long fantasy series?

I haven't either! I read the first book in a long fantasy series and got bored, so I haven't bought the second yet.

I don't think I've done that in at least ten years. I've started a couple in that time span, never finished.

Of course, it would be really great if some people here finished writing a super-long fantasy series hint hint nudge nudge OOR.

I wasn't complaining about the air supply, just wondering! :P/>

Fish breathe by taking oxygen that's dissolved in the water. If we assume that Katerei's bubble prevents water from passing through it, but not the oxygen, then it will basically act as a big gill.

Maybe I just consider LotR to be super-long because it's so boring. If Wheel of Time is boring too, then nevermind.

No, but I think he was going to be without regular internet access :( I hope he's able to post soon!

Personally, I think this post merits a ban, but I'll be nice and give you a chance to read LotR instead :P .

I'm guessing the reason that LotR is boring is because it's overly-complicated. It's boring trying to keep track of everything. (This may be way I originally thought Cythera was boring - too much background information up front.) So, Wheel of Time is probably boring too :P

Maybe I owe the world an apology for that last statement. Not everything that is complicated is boring. Sorry :( Perhaps print size has a bigger impact than simplicity on how interesting a series is?

So, you're saying that if we used larger fonts in our OoR posts that would cause more people to read it?

(On that note, I'm working on another post and hope to have it up before the end of the week.)

That sounds like a good strategy. I'm in the habit of bumping up my browser's text before reading any stories on the internet.

Well, I went ahead and put my post up. I think it's actually the second longest post I've ever written  ; however, I don't plan on going back and counting all the words in my previous posts to check.

I made some effort to explain Beorn's thought process, although I don't know how well it worked out.

Has there ever been a chron challenge to write a spooky story? Maybe we should have one for Hallowe'en.

That was amazing, Nezmy! I wasn't expecting the post to be from Scry's pov, and I think it's brilliant. A blind girl's pov, describing the scene through sounds and smells. It's enjoyable to read, and it's nice to have Athes' and Firecat's unique speech patterns back :D

The music complemented your post nicely, especially the first song. Okay, maybe I liked the second song better, but I ended up just listening to the song instead of reading :x oops. I also appreciate the reference to actual Cythera places ^_^ And, learning more about Scry in the character info thread was fun! So she's not just a mindless killing machine? Cool :)

Thanks for posting, Nezmy! I really hope you post some more before the TS ends :D

Edit: Last night I thought Tyry was crazy for insisting Nezmy's post was in a different font, but this morning it's definitely different. Weird o_O

Glad you liked it, 453! Thanks for the email too haha. I was a little upset to find I had missed two typos! I guess there's always room to improve and with me there's usually a lot.

It was a lot of fun writing from Scry's POV. I'm glad I have her to work with the dynamic of Fc and Athes. I picked her for that scene based on the idea that every scene needs conflict for the story to be interesting. Scry was the perfect choice because if I had done Sage or Athes it would have been too narrow of a struggle. With Scry I had her dealing with the new people, dealing with Sage, and herself. Making for a lot better writing.

I'm glad you liked the music too! Honestly I could have just used the first song for the whole post, so I'm glad you liked it so much.

The font was different, eh? Well I guess my posts can be spooky in there own way.

Thanks again for the feedback 453, I always appreciate it!

Back to the story though. Scry has the Water Elemental Star in her possesion, and is traveling with ARK towards the cult of Scylla. A&S are currently in route to retrieving the last elemental star for air.

Nice post! I still don't quite understand what's going on. When they restore the elements to alt-Cythera, will the void be accessible again? Are the heroes okay with letting Selax escape to take over more worlds?

That part is what Beorn and Katerei have to figure out.

So the alt-Cythera heroes are working to restore the Void, trusting that the real-Cythera heroes will keep Selax from entering it?

My understanding (from recent posts in OoR) is more that they are trying to break the link between the two worlds (Beorn and Katerei are working on weakening it), and that any effect this has on the Void is more of a side-effect.

In any case, nice posts TJ (good to see you around again :) ) and Avatara.
