Help
As some may have noticed, the Chronicles Board is somewhat inactive right now (to say the least). Thus, I'm going to start another chron challenge (see here and here for further information) in attempt to restore some activity to it.
Challenge:
Write a short story (preferably at least 500 words although I won't be counting so it wouldn't matter) concerning the First Tyrant's rise to power in Cythera.
Requirements:
The first sentence must be "It was the best of times: it was the worst of times."
Words used must include: megalomaniac, extemporaneous, domination, and Kythera.
One of the characters must be a mage.
The story must be set in or near Cademia.

If we had more members able to devote more time to chronicles, I imagine that we would get some replies to these challenges. But at the moment, things are a little slow. . .
That being said, I may well write a chron sometime if I have nothing else to do.

I'd love to write something.. I'm in the process of two/three big stories while writing various other small ones.. with school getting out tomorrow at 11 am PDT, I'll have even more free time on my hands.
My only issue is that, since I've never really played Cythera (only got to play a little bit in the OSX Beta), I know nothing of the lore. So, the most that I can add to the chronicle section are a few stories that I've wrote about a character or two that I use in TSes. If you dont mind, I could dig up a few stories that fit the same genre of Cythera (fantasy/past) and post them, or maybe even one of the many TSes me and Kentonis did, (I'd just need to get on aim and ask him if he cared about me posting them).

I don't know how much ingame material is given; the potential openness of such a story was one reason that I selected it (I think). The links in Slayer's Guide (particularly those to the books and dialogue) might have some information.

I guess it would be okay if you wanted to post stories in a similar genre (at least, I believe that's been done before). As referenced above, some information on the game can be found in the links on Slayer's Guide.

Actually I think this sounds like a really fun challenge, I've just been too lazy to research the first tyrant @_@

Okay, I moved it to the Chron board. It's past the deadline now, but better late than never, right? *Closed-teeth grin*
I wanted Sely's permission before I submitted it, because it's his challenge (and I didn't meet the preferred length [I made the computer count for me]) and also because he has the power to delete it if he doesn't like it.
Um, by the way, my Chron is the first one posted this year. And it's July. That's really sad :(

Hmm, well, it's a bit short for a chron, but, as you pointed out, that board has been mostly dead of late anyway...
Of course, I think that you must expand your story as well. Nothing less than 10,000 words will suffice!

I think it's a good idea for you to write a chron, that board has been so very inactive lately. I was actually thinking of a few ideas for my own chron awhile ago, but they've never materialized.

Personally, I'd be very interested in a Wizzy-chron. Your posts are always my favourites in TSs, Wizzy, and I think it's a disgrace that the Chron-board is not yet graced with your presence :P

I posted a Chron recently! Not on-challenge, but half my fanbase is already begging for sequels! ;p
