Sounds GREAT!

Just remember, though-- Bly is an accomplished warrior and spellcaster (who's even invented some spells), which could... mix things up a bit. <evil grin>

Just keep in mind that there should be some kind of "trigger" ("of trigger" roles off the toung nicely), like an item or event or circumstance (maybye not the last two though since they have been done alot).

Hm, right now there's alot of people working their characters into the plot, but there's not alot going on for the people who have already joined. How about something happens to our travlers? A monster might be good but a puzzle blocking their advance would most likely be better.

Personally, I would prefer it if no one "called" game characters (for a variety of reasons), such as Magpie, Lindus, etc. The game world (including its characters) functions best, I think, as the stage for TSs.

As it is now, members have the ability to make posts that make use of local game characters (e.g. someone uses Lindus in a post at Pnyx). If people started "calling" characters, this would be much harder, if not impossible. Usage of game characters would begin to be restricted, inconveniencing everyone in the long run.

In addition, conflicts could occur between two parties that each claimed the same character, and I think it better to avoid this possibility.

I think it would also change the fundamental nature of TSs; as far as I know, TSs have always been carried out using Original Characters. The feel (difficult to describe what I mean here) would change, and, personally, I would find that less enjoyable.

I also recommend care in how powerful characters are made. I'm still trying to deal with all of the overpowered characters that I made.

Two Jacks: Rapierian isn't exactly a friend :P . Indeed, I suggest that someone do something with the group.

I didn't mean that like it sounded. I just meant 'Is Magpie still in his present condition?' You see, I never finished Cythera (the game), so...

At any rate, I don't place any sort of exclusivity rights on him at all. Just so you know.

Selax: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. :P We could come up with some sort of puzzle together. I'm thinking two stoe statue (giant) golems at the moment. Just as a visual though.

SIB: At the end of the game Magpie is fine but knows (remembers?) more about him self.

If Alaric gives you trouble, just slip'em a finsky.

EDIT: Just read Selax's last post in the TS. (Yay it's pinned now.) This may be nothing important but, back on Earth Bly was reserching Cythera and came across information on TTOL. Shouldn't he be surprised when Alaric brings it up?

No, he just notes in down in his memory. He's not the sort of person who's surprised by that sort of thing. More the sort who's surprised by one crazy mage who can tell when he's casting (even through he tried to hide it), and eats life force. Eugh!

Well, no one really decides what another person's character's story is. My idea was only a suggestion, you don't have to use it or you could use parts of it but it's completely up to you to decide what to do with your own character. I'm sure what ever you decide on will be great.

Hope to see you soon in the TS.

Well. . . I'm caught up on the TS again. I am very sorry that I've been away for a week, but I should warn everyone that it may happen occasionally. I'll try to be more involved in the coming weeks, though.

I must say that I'm a little disappointed in its progress so far. I realize that my first post probably did not set up the story to be Cythera-related or very Tree of Life-related for that matter, but I'll try to do that in my coming post. Remember those of you with the group: don't be afraid to move the group along or add a small twist (like a fight or a camping scene or a puzzle).

Muse, what you could do is have your character bump into the group while they are trying to rescue Wizard. It's entirely up to you how you want to bring your character into the story.

I'm probably going to go ahead and post.

To simplify matters (and to not waste time), I need to get Rapierian into the group fairly quickly.

To do this, I have come up with the idea that Alaric gave Rapierian a letter (written primarily to Shanadar) concerning Rapierian. The exact contents of this letter really need not be revealed and may be left up to the imagination. Whatever it says, it's enough to convince them to allow Rapierian along.

Does this idea sound acceptable?

On another note, I'm going to try and do something with the group.

SoItBegins: I can explain how Rapierian detected Bly's spell if you're interested.

We need BW to join!

Okay, I have posted. My post has revealed the bad guy (those of you who read/participated in Ruffian Encampment will remember him) and presents the group with its first obstacle. I'm hoping that now that everyone is in the group and most of the introductions are out of the way, we can begin to make a lot more progress in the TS.

The goal right now is for them to defeat the golems and then proceed following Wizard's kidnappers. Wizard's kidnappers are moving in the direction of the Tree of Life, so at this point, everyone is going towards it. When they do rescue Wizard, whenever that is, I guess it will kind of become a race to reach the tree before the bad guys. That's just a rough sketch for where we are going.

At the moment, let's try really hard to make the current fight scene really good with excellent fight scene posts! :P

Happy TSing.

Ok I just posted, you can hate me since nothing has really changed since SoItBegins post, but I didn't like how the fighting suddenly came about, but I did like SoItBegins idea. I want to have more interaction between everybody since I find it makes people's posts more enjoyable to read (like Selax's, SIB's, and Wizard's).

I think the wizard operating the Iron Golem should be kind of crazy like ruffians on kesh, they don't talk to you, however this battle should give us some info on where to go.

It also looks like this TS is going to be short. This may just be my point of view but now it looks like the TOL is almost apon us closely followed by the end, and that's just sad. :P

Don't worry, TwoJacks. I wasn't pointing a finger at you, or anybody really, when I mentioned that I was disappointed in the TS's progress. That was more of a reference to the overall lack of participation from everyone (although SoItBegins and Selax did post a lot) who had promised to join and hadn't yet or everyone who had joined but just not been posting. . . and that includes me too. ;)

I guess it does kind of look like a short TS at this point. We'll see what happens, though.

Oh yes, and I think that I'm going to write a short post again. Most likely one tracing the battle from Altérius' view.

Edit: I've posted again. All I had time to do was explain that Altérius has already laid another trap for the group. I'm leaving the strategy for destroying the iron golem and ending the battle up to the next person or two.

Hm we should try to make the plot interesting and not have a "trap, progress, trap, progress, ect." pattern. Something should happen at the entrance into the TOL, something that prevents enter. Right now I feel like later in the plot we'll need something that'll take us far away from the mainland to retreive something to enter the Tree of Life grounds. That's why I gave Yomu the silver box.

Far away from where the TOL is located were another set of catacombs created by the people who sealed off the tree of life. Inside the catacombs was a treasure, and this treasure contained secrets. Yomu himself cannot read or even open the box, hence the inscription, "All that I am to the worthy.". Yomu was soposed to deliver this box to the person who had put up the mark for its retrieval however, they never showed. Eventulay I want to have this person found which would lead to the person who is worthy to read the box, be them good or evil.
How does this sound to everyone?

I check the TS everyday and I post when I feel it's appropriate.

I'd like for the ruffian cheif to be the one whole stole Yomu's belongings, and as you can tell Yomu is somewhat powerless without them. The fall of the Iron golem should be somewhat of a team effort. Right now mine, SIB's and Selax's characters could pull something off but the more the merryer! :P

Sounds good. Also, I have a few suggestions for things Alterius could try. None of them are nice.

The idea I just got involves kidnapping one or more of the more crucial party members... (evil grin)

Another idea would involve stirring up some of the natural forces of Cythera against you.

Yet another is more... political. Perhaps some of the party members could be framed for some grievous crime or other.

Sorry for not posting recently. There wasn't any reason to do so after my first post, I busied myself with things, then all the reasons I had been anticipating all happened at once. At least I got a chance to use Selax's shenanigans with Rapierian against him; pardon or no pardon, you do not give an Enforcer a reason to be angry with you <wicked grin>.

Well, no one ever said that Rapierian was the most sane person around... ;)

Personally, I wouldn't recommend taking the TS too off-course. They seem to work best following on one idea. Also, a short TS is not necessarily a bad one :P .

I think we might want to go ahead and finish the battle before it begins to drag on. Any suggestions?

The key to the whole mess is disabling or destroying the iron golem. Then the rest's easy.

EDIT: I just came up with an idea!

1) Someone gets a large load of water on the golem.

2) Rapierian immediately launches a spell that speeds or invokes decay.

3) Iron + Water + Time = Rust.

Just posted, I made it so Bly and Yomu were taken out of battle for a moment and had a breif conversation. (I also made Bly's reaction like SIB's reaction in his last post here.) :P Now we just have to find a way to get the water to the iron giant, or get the iron giant to the water...

I think you've all got more than enough characters participating at this point and I'm really kinda lost as to how I'd be able to get involved in any of this since I don't want my character to be Cytheranian :P

You could be the person who's "worthy" to open the box. You know a scribe, it'd be a shame if you sit this one out. Who knows when the next one will be. Though I don't know how long it would take to get to your part.

She was in exile for 100 years. As the sun began to eclipse she knew the waiting was finally going to end, when out across the horizon she saw them. "About time." She said as the craft drew ever closer.

Well, I sat down and thought this one out, and this is what came up:

1) Getting water to the (extremely thick-skinned) golem is no good-- for this kind of rust it really has to be immersed in the water, if only for a little while.

2) Remote Manipulation probably won't work-- you saw what happened to the golem after it had been blasted with lightning enough..

3) One person charging at the golem won't work either: case in point Yomu, who just got thrown into a tree.

4) However, if a group of people came at it, then together with that fear spell of Rapierian's...

That was all I could think of. If you have a better idea, please post and let me know...

No TS can have to many characters ;) (truth be told, this one is going a bit slower than I'd like).

There are many ways to throw a character in: have them fall out of the sky on the group, stumble out of a portal, appear in the woods (or in the road, I think that's what Selax did), etc.

But, in any case, do what you feel is best :P and feel free to join at any time (in this TS or the next one).

It's also fine to just say your character has been in the group the whole time, if you don't want to enter with fireworks ^_^ It's not like much TS-time has passed so far.

Edit: I think this fight scene is lagging, and I believe it is about time for it to end @_@
