*Selax regretfully turn Crazy over to the moderator police.* :P

EDIT: I suggest we attempt to get this back on topic.

Are you crazy? I don't want to babysit her!

Hey! I don't need to be baby-sat!

And I don't know about Selax, but I'm definitely crazy. What sort of a question is that?

Hmm, couldn't you turn her over to another moderator?

I recently received a complaint that we weren't being friendly and amiable enough on the Cythera boards, so I'm bumping this topic to say hello to everybody new out there... wherever you are. :P

Whoever was complaining is crazy. This seems like the most welcoming section of the forums I've found yet...

There's definitely no disputing that. . . (I think that this comment will get me killed :P )

Thank you! I've been poking around a bit through old topics, but there's a lot to go through. What sort of things go on here? I may just have to stick around if it proves interesting.

Lots of things go on. Have you played the game Cythera? If you have, and you have a question, the boards are the place to ask. If you like writing stories, or have played the game and have some extended ideas about the plot, or just want to write some action/adventure thing, you can write chronicles for the chronicle board or join Team Stories (TS's) to write alongside others on the boards.

Stick around for a while, you might enjoy yourself. I look forward to seeing you in future TS's maybe. . .

I think I might have played Cythera once or twice on my housemate's computer, but that would have been several years ago, so it's hard to remember. I've just been exploring the forums here and testing the waters, so to speak. :P I haven't done much writing either, but it could be fun to try. Will it be a problem if I'm not really familiar with the game?

We have several others who have never even taken the effort to try the game, so as long as you have an idea what you're writing there wouldn't be a problem. The current TS just ended a few minutes ago, so if you want to try out a character, the Tavern is the place to start.

Hmm, thanks, judging by the first few posts it sounds like fun. If I can come up with something, maybe I will join in, but it looks like I have some reading to catch up on first!

Welcome, Ledstjärna, I apologize for not having welcomed you earlier.

Actually, you don't really have to read the Tavern to know what is going on. Most people just got back from the TS, and that's never really needed for a Tavern, although it might help give you an idea of what goes on there.

I also apologize for not welcoming you. I saw you browsing, and I also saw that you'd looked at my profile. Welcome to Cythera! *Tosses confetti* However, I feel I must point out that I am not crazy. People who actually know me instead of not showing up on the IRC for a month at a time *glares at Wizzy* know that.

Huzzahs! A newbie! Yay!
Welcome to Cythera, Ledstjärna! You don't have to post in the Alraecian Tavern or TSs if you don't want to. Although the Tavern at the End of the Universe is easy to participate in, because you don't need to know anything about Cythera to join.

Much obliged to you all. I have now been convinced without a doubt that this is the warmest community in these parts. Sorry for calling you crazy, BreadWorldMercy453, but I don't know how you can think this place isn't welcoming! I'm poking through this "end of the universe" tavern right now, because that might be a better place for me to start, but I'm not sure I understand it. Do you write yourself into the story instead of making up characters? :P

You've got it, the Crazy Tavern is basically us ^_^ Also, what I said to Wizzy was that we are not as kind to newbies as we used to be, and we aren't, in my opinion.

It really is the Crazy Tavern because -I- invented it! :P Well, actually, I thought that having a permanent topic for what happened in the Spam topic (too lazy to link) would be a good idea. Mind you, the Spam topic got locked...

Oh, I thought it meant how absurd the events in it were. ;) You had a spam topic here? Now that sounds like something crazy.

In other news, it is done! I posted in the Tavern at the End of the Universe. Maybe once I get the hang of it I will join the other tavern.

I see your post and raise you... um, another post.

We have two spam topics I know of, although one is locked. *Glares at Avatara* The other is still going strong.

Like I said, don't feel you have to join the Alraeican Tavern yet. If you want to, however, I won't stop you, and indeed, actively encorage you. It leads to just about the coolest thing on the boards: Team Stories.

I believe Shorty came up with the phrase "Crazy Tavern" (though I could be wrong), we used to call it "Crazy's Tavern" but I like this way better because it reflects not only you, but also the lack of sanity in that place ^_^
