Slayer's Guide to Cythera has returned thanks to the generous support of Magpie/dusk. The guide had died along with Macclassics.com, but now it is reborn in a new location:

http://russell.stanb...ide/cythera.htm

Between teaching computer science at a university and studying for a Ph.D., I probably won't have time to update it, but I hope it will be a useful source of information for people. I'm glad to see that the Cythera community is still alive.

Slayer's guide is actually now located at:

http://scrabab.com/cythera.htm

[edit] keep changing my mind which URL it will be located at. There it will stay, though. [/edit]

Thank you Slayer! Although I am fairly new to the Cythera boards, for some time it was a joke that I was you. I think it is great you are still alive. Thanks.

[EDIT] It doesn't work. [/EDIT]

Percinator, try it at http://scrabab.com/cythera.htm now. If that still doesn't work, I'll have to take a close look at what I'm doing wrong.

Yay! At long last, Slayer, our former übermod and champion, makes an appearance (albiet, a brief one) back here at the old Cythera Forums!

The books section is actually incomplete. I've now collected (I think!) all the Aloiphos manuscripts, and there are three which are only available in Pnyx 8H: Aloiphos VA, VD, and YA. 8H also contains the notes and translation for the Cipher manuscript.

Pages updated. I now have all the books except yours and those listed as being in "Machaon"; I have added dialogue from Ignae, Jinrai, and Prusa.

[edit]Scratch that, I grabbed a copy of the Second prophesy that was posted to the boards. Now all that's left is your report, I believe.[/edit]

Slayer's Guide to Cythera updated: the links section now includes links to Pallas Athene's dialogue and book collection

I couldn't see the second prophesy on your webpage.

Fixed. I've just run into an unexpected snag in the dialogue categorization, though, which I believe I'll have to start a new topic to rant on.

Hooray! The evil emperor has survived the deletion of the Ultimate Chron*!

It's good to have Slayer's Guide back online again, even if I can't play Cythera on my current computer anymore.

*Chron Wars reference by the way

By the way, I can't connect to the new site, did the location move?

The guide can now be located at:

http://scrabab.com/cythera.htm

or... it will be located there when I get the server working. At the moment my life is ruled by end-of-year exams. This problem will be fixed by the 19th of November at the latest. Sorry for the disruption!

I know that, I was just pointing out the site seems to be down.

I believe IT 000 was pointing out the miner's pick he found so as to add to Slayer's Guide, though I'm not entirely sure...

Hi everyone, first post for me :P I've always liked Cythera, despite the old-world graphics, because of its great storyline and imaginitive content in general. It's great to see there are other people still playing it (or at least talking about it)! I thought the game had more or less died ...

Anyway, I find Slayer's guide really useful, and I was using it just last night (my time), when suddenly the pages stopped loading. Safari tells me in all its wisdom,
"Safari can’t open the page “http://scrabab.com/skill.htm” because it could not connect to the server “scrabab.com”."

What gives? Server problems? Hope they are fixable ...
