I certainly hope that Bush will win and Kerry's middle initial is F.

I'm a Bush guy. And after the debate the other night, I think he's got it nailed.

I would like very much for Mr. Kerry to win, but I remain skeptical that he actually will. The debates were certainly a positive point for Kerry, he knows when to push and when to retreat, but America is not a country that likes voting out the incumbent whilst involved in military action.

I'd say you have a good point. I've heard (though it's not from a quotable source) that only 5 incumbents were voted out of office in the 20th century - without someone like Ross Perot around and even if the polls are close, Bush will have an edge.

I would, however, like to see him win.

Kerry would win if the election was held today. 280-258. This is based on who is leading in state polls, the polls that actually matter. The 280-258 number is based on Bush winning the three states in which they are tied, New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Iowa.

Speaking for Avatara: He admits it ;)

And Bush will win. Kerry is a dangerous, nasty, stupid liberal. Name one accomplishment during his 20-some years in the Senate. There you go. :P

Oh yeah? I don't care much about Kerry's accomplishments, I like Kerry because I've despised almost *every* single domestic policy Bush has and has made clear he will continue. I don't want another four years of that. I seriously don't believe Kerry will be as bad as another reign of Bush.

It doesn't matter which one of them wins. The only thing that matters is that, no matter what, we lose. We lose and our children will suffer the outcome of both this election and the previous one for several generations to come. It will take many years to retrieve the former reputation of the U.S. in the world's view.

If I had more time I would go into detail like a fool, but I'll just say Kerry does have accomplishments. And even if you were right (which you aren't) that he didn't do anything, that is better then doing damage, as Bush has done.

It's statements and people like that which pretty much guarantee I won't be living in this country a decade from now.

I hope this doesn't turn into a flame war, and I hope if it does the moderators put an end to it quickly :P

This is where normally I'd start a flame war in response to that post, but I'm otherwise occupied and can't be bothered.

Bush will clearly win. I don't like Bush but I know nothing about kerry so have no preference. I pretty much share forge's opinion though.

The only way Bush will be assigned a "clear win", in my opinion, is if either 1) there is a terrorist attack on the U.S., or 2) Osama is miraculously "found" a few days before the election.
Note that fear, and to a certain extent hate, is what will elect Bush.
