Maybe this is listed somewhere, but I think I have a vague notion of when you get another blue bar:

100- 1 bar
200- 2 bar
500- 3 bar
1000- 4 bar
1600- 5 bar
3200- 6 bar

The farther down the list, the more unsure I am.
