I am sitting here posting this on a brand new computer that arrived this morning. It feels very holy epiffany Posted Image

Dual 2Ghz Powermac G5
2 GB RAM
250 GB Harddrive
ATI Radeon 9800 XT w/ 256 MB
17 LCD screen

All I can say is Wow.

I prefer my 21" CRT, but otherwise that's a pretty spiffy machine.

I prefer the picture quality of CRTs, even if they are bigger. I have the space.

CRTs are far more devastating on the eyes than LCDs.

Actually, it is very possible not to. With 2GB of RAM, you could easily go for a long time without touching the last 1GB or 512MB of it.

If he's doing any video or music editing, Godly amounts of RAM is a must-have. Other than that, it's there for braging rights.

People whining about my RAM: This comp is going to be doing some serious (emphasis on serious there) video editing. I think the RAM will be useful there. Plus, it means I won't have to have more added in for a long, long long, long long, long time.

The comp, technically, is my dads, for his video editing work. He agreed to let me use it when he wasn't and have some HD space, however, so its really nice. I also convinced him to get the 256 video card, everything else on this one he chose.
