Just curious. I've noticed that moderators seem to give less Karma these days than in years past. Most old members had high or medium Karma.

Most boards that had high karma turnouts have declined in posting speeds significantly.

I think that the amount of Karma given out these days is just fine. Its rarified nature provides secondary motivation for unestablished individuals to be quality members of the community. If more was given out just for the hell of it, the establishment might lose some of its footing and anarchy would reign unchecked.

If it didn't max out at 15, the establishment would lose no footing, as the "old" members would still be ahead of the "new" members, thus giving them a goal. Also, the blessed karma of moderators gives an unreachable goal.

I like my karma now. Before I got Zax to give me one, I was a "good egg". I don't like eggs. Upstanding Citizen is much more to my liking Posted Image Also, I don't want to go above 4 because being an "honored leader" isn't unique enough.
