I'm probably going to always be of the completely opposite viewpoint when compared to you (there's probably some exceptions), and there's nothing wrong with that. There's no reason to apologize for expressing your political beliefs here, you have just as much of a right to rant and rave about these issues as I do.

Really, I don't know anything about this Kerry person other than what you guys posted in this topic, but if there's a chance he's going to do better than Bush, he should have it.
I'm actually amazed Bush is doing good in public American opinion... what with the Patriot Act and stuff, and also he messed up the Iraq thing majorly, even though he did find Saddam in the end - I'm not sure what the war cost, but I remember reading it was the most expensive thing in recent history, more or less. There were reports in the paper some time ago that the US actually couldn't afford to keep their troops in Iraq - and at the same time didn't have the cash to send them back home (I had a big debate with my friends about whether or not the US deserved outside help in that case). Also, from the cost/usefulness rating, it was more disastrous than the Vietnam War. Oh, not nearly as many soldiers died, but in comparison, the percentage was higher. but I'll stop ranting about this stupid war here, it only gets me upset, and at some point I'll stop making sense...
It's also true he didn't do any good in foreign relation - I know quite a few people who used to think the US was sorta decent.. until Bush started his war preparations - but then, one of his officials insulted Germany rather badly (and don't tell me it wasn't Bush who did it, it was still someone appointed by Bush if I'm not mistaken). It's calmed down, but there was a lot of anti-Us sentiment over here...
As a facit, I'm really glad I'm not an American - I get to choose between more than 2 candidates at the election, and I get to laugh about what's going on over there. (Or, in some cases, just shake my head at the sheer stupidity of it...)

Except he didn't screw up the nation. It is much harder to do any damage as 1 of 100 senators then as 1 of 1 presidents.

It's, likewise, pretty hard to do screw all that much up as President without the approval of at least 51 of those Senators. Bush hasn't been the only President in power during Kerry's "reign of terror" (
