I don't think "queen" is the right descriptive term for Shan.

How about "princess?" Queens are usually married and stuff.

Buddha is a "fun" feature of Hinduism. Vishnu (one of the three memebers of the Hindu trinity (or trimurtu) composed of Brahma (creator), Vishnu (humanities protector), and Shiva (destroys the universe every few billion years so that Brahma can remake it) has an Avatar that is Buddha. He can turn into Buddha, or something like that, it's been a while since I brushed up on my Hinduism.

Hinduism has thousands of Gods, could you be more specific?

Anyway, I was only talking about the Hindu version of the trinity, the Trimurtu.

In case you haven't noticed, this is Trash Talk. Nothing stays on topic. And besides, the original topic was religion, and Hinduism is a religion, so it qualifies as on topic.

himduism and buddhism are completely unrelated. they are practiced in the same region, but there is no way a hindu god would turn into the same regular old guy (which is what buddhism makes sure buddah stays. justa regular, really smart, old guy) i think that you are thinking of something else.

There is a difference, this gradually got off topic. You went to a topic with a single reply and went from "Does anyone like ares?" to "I like the Yankees." Not only that, but the next person tried to get back on topic, you posted blatently off-topic again. And again, and again - four times, with a tremendous disregard to the posts before you. THAT is why you got slapped.

All forms of Buddhism are religions, some more than others, plus there is no mandate of complete non-violence unless you're a monk or not a Buddhist.

An avatar is a physical manifestation of a spiritual manifestation of Brahman, the ultimate reality. Most Hindus don't really regard Buddha as one of the greater avatars, if they regard him as one at all (some Hindus also regard Jesus as an avatar, FYI).

Krishna is another avatar of Vishnu (probably the most popular one), his story is contained in the Bhagavad Gita, the epic story justifying the Caste system in the Hindu tradition.

Millions of Gods, not thousands; 330 million to be exact.

Buddhism is a "break away" from Hinduism. The Buddha was raised a devout Hindu, then he became enlightened and formed a following. Hinduism decided to include him as an avatar in order to bring back many Hindus that had deserted to become Buddhists. The two religions are not completely unrelated (in fact, you can be a follower of both at the same time), but their doctrine is significantly different while still being based on the same principles. Simple mistake though, you get the gist of how they work. Posted Image

I am a practicing Baptist. I find it very hard when people create examples of my faith that are rather... misled...

I don't find denomination to be an issue, I look straight to scripture and compare what is being taught to what is actually there. I also realize that there are many people of different faiths on the boards - I personally prefer to be a good example of my faith rather than shove doctrine down people's throats. If I give advice then I tie my faith into it.

I have reason to doubt Atheism and reason that I believe what I do.

Heh, I also prefer not to have theological debates on the internet. :P

Anyway - I will say that I just watched Schindler's List in my English class and was... the best way to put it is amazed. Amazed that monsters like that could be created, amazed that such blind hate and disregard for human life could exist. To consider others below you is a complete fallacy - logically, scietifically, ethically. I was very moved by Liam Neeson's final scene when he realizes that the pin on his shirt could have saved two more people - two more living, breathing, thinking beings - two more souls. I will never understand it - I will never understand how that hell was created.

It was an attempt at being funny. Everybody's like.."OOOH! An actual topic about Ares! That can't happen!" So I tried to make sure it didn't happen. In a joking way.

Heh - well, the best way to joke about it is to joke about it - not make it happen. I'd say alluding to the fact that an actual topic about Ares is rare would be fine, maybe even posting a few off topic things, but shanghaing the whole thing really isn't appreciated.

And you are posting plenty enough to get rid of that negative karma too...
