Sadly enough, up untill wednesday I had never played Ares before. I downloaded it, and man that game is awesome. I liked the graphics, and the game play was smooth. Plus I can have huge fleets folowing me, and kill stuff with them!!! (Plus the flak turret things are cool.)

Ares is a great game. I even registered it. I would play it more, but the thought of launching classic deters me. I can only hope for carbonized Ares.

The only problem with it is that few people play multiplayer. After you beat the single campaign (aside from a few 'fun' levels its nice to play over) pretty much all that's left is multiplayer, unless you start downloading some of the plug-ins.

There are a few good plugins for Ares still. Admittedly, they're all quite old, but so's the game. For example, I hear the top ranked plugin is pretty good.

Marlins win, Yankees and Red Sox loose, and suck. Though I don't like the Marlins either.

I originally had a lengthy explanation in her smuckel topic, but then I decided against making that knowledge public - but now, it'll just give SA more chances to practice his censoring abilities if he so chooses. That's up to him, and since everyone else is going off topic, its kinda pointless to keep slapping here.

And no, I don't karmaban on foreign boards - I don't feel I have the authority for that, so it never would have gone that far.

It's spelled Smuckal.

Ironically enough, to make the 'a' in Smuckal bold, I had to spell it wrong.

Hooray! my Karma is up to 0 again.

Isn't a karma ban something that Mods do because they can't lock a topic fully on a certain board? I think that you should be able to karma lock whenever you feel like it. In fact, for practice do it to this topic. I wish I was a mod. I'd Karma lock the crap out of this topic, just for fun.

Karma locks are usually done in serious situations when the topic is escalating out of hand (like into a massive, bloody flame war or something) and nobody can get ahold of the forum moderators, so a mod that's online posts something saying that anybody replying to said topic gets a slap - with the intent that if nobody posts its as good as a lock until a forum mod gets online.

Karma bans are when you reach -10 and are unable to post in that account until someone rasies your karma manually and andrew allows their account to post again, so its a pretty serious punishment - just short of an ip ban. (which often follows if they return and continue bad activity via other accounts or unregistered) I don't think karma bans are handed out through karma locks, unless someone continues violating the rules to a serious extent.

And, naturally, Avatara is well versed in banning people. See, I was banned on TT awhile back for being a striker, and, um........
