2nd generation is the best in my opinion. It has the trackpad scroll wheel, but keeps the original cool design. The new design sucks. It's all.. fragile.. and.. the buttons are crappily placed.

I've got a 10GB 2nd ed. My only gripe is I wish the 2nd edition had the dock chargers, connecting and disconnecting that firewire cable all the time can be a pain.
