[Nice to know that we're back on track for the 100th post]

I'll refer back to my previous post:

The media tends to group people into "pro-war" and "anti-war" and gloss over other distinctions.

Since you're in Australia, I assume you're seeing what the media tells you, not what's actually happening in America. I know what the news is saying too - "a majority of Americans are for the war, but a bunch of UC Berkeley students are protesting."

At least where I am, I can count on one hand the number of people I know who were in favor of going to war, and when I was at Berkeley, I was told that a majority of them supported it.

People aren't necessarily losing their individuality, but the Media would sure like to take it from them.

And sometimes people have an opinion that changes throughout, and ends up settling in the middle.

Like "that's a good reason to go to war, but we shouldn't be doing this" type.

My Goodness, of course I know that there are only 2 positions on the subject, for or against, there is no middle ground. However there was alarming rapidity of opinion polarisation. How could this be turned against America? Easily. So the fact it can happen at all for good or evil is worrying.

Ah, Joveia's laziness has expanded to the point where he's just posting nothing, leaving us to fill in what we want him to say.

Well, I edited my message.

I don't believe there's anything in the world which proves that it is possible to naturally evolutionise a totally different species in 3 million years. We're going from fish to ground creatures in around 100 million years (I'm guessing). And an equally large change in 3 million years. So that means recently we've been operating at 6600% effeciency. This is out of a possible 100%.

Somebody needs to get a better grasp of evolutionary theory.

I'm just guessing. Please enlighten me on what evolutionary theory tells us about the time it took to evolve intelligence for any other species!

I am predicting that we don't know, therefore we can only guess. However we do know that the time it took to transverse ape = man is 3 million years. This change is approximately as great as *random other change* if you count the form ONLY. So all I need to do to make a more correct statement is find out the approximate other change and that time.

I don't know about that ape to man time, but it is quite reasonable for a new species to form in three million years.

Or with the help of good old fashion nuclear waste we could probably cut that time in fourths or eigths.

That gave me a good laugh. And since I'm feeling generous right now, here, have my Seal of Approval:
