I just stole a drivable warthog from the people making the Halo movie. I intend to drive it off a cliff and see if it's REALLY indestructable.

A group of starships flashed into existence in a remote sector of space between Admiral Jackson's asteroid base and the Wreck. They had been dispatched to acertain the condition of Admiral Shlimazel's Task Force Iron Dragon.
When they entered the system, they observed a vast expanse of metal where ships floated dead in space. It was like a graveyard.
At first they assumed there was some form of problem. But moments later they were sure of it. Entire Ubercept Battleships floated in space, ripped to chunks. Some ships had been turned inside out, chairs hanging crazily off the hull of the ship. Dead bodies hung in space, similarly inverted. Here a ship had opened like a flower. There a ship was covered with what could only be described as fungus. It was sickening, and terrifying.
The few ships that were relatively intact showed signs of evacuation. That was comforting to see. At least some had survived.
But though they searched for hours they could not find the Great Death. What happened? they asked. What could cause this aberration of nature? They didn't have an answer.
But their instruments showed a fracture in space-time. A warp. A hole to elsewhere, opened and then sealed crudely.
The Ubercept possessed the technology to manipulate space-time. But not like this. Never like this.
And memories of stories, crewer's tales of things which lived in space, terrible and ancient things. Laughed off by common folk as tall tales, made up things.
But there were men in the Ubercept Navy who didn't laugh at such stories.....
The ships fled. There are some things to terrible for anyone to face, and one of them had existed here.
And far, far away, beyond space and time, someone screamed in agony.
