Christ, I don't remember seeing a single song in the movie. I guess I need to watch them again. In any event, the songs were pretty important for establishing background in the books, the argument could be made that they were a major part of the story. However, I'm fairly glad they didn't all occasionally lapse into song.

I should have dressed up as a pirate for Pirates, I do it with my friends even when we're not going to movies. That would have been killer.
Conveniently, I had just finished portraying a Pirate captain in a play for some elementary school kids, so I kept my costume on and went with one of the play's pirate wenches to see it at Midnight.

I was worried about how much they'd have to cut out, but they did it well I thought...

I absolutely LOVED this movie. My God was it amazing. It's as if David Yates read the book and wanted to bring it to life through film. I thought it was leaps and bounds better than the first four films. So much of it was taken word for word from the books.
Luna. Holy crap! She WAS Luna! Her character easily could've been tossed aside and not developed, but with the little time they had, they did a beautiful job!
Umbridge. She was amzing. All the little details about her office.. and her mannerisms were spot on!
The thing I liked best about this movie is how it got all the little details that readers care about. The things that, if you hadn't read the books you might not notice.. No other director has done this yet. The little things like Tonks tripping inside Grimwauld Place, the memos zooming through the ministry, the meat on Hagrid's face. So much could've been easily overlooked and left out. And the parts they did change were well done. While in the book I loved the pensieve scene (Snape's Worst Memory) but what they did in the movie was marvelous and pulled everything together.
It could not have been better. Thank goodness they have a competent director for the next movie as well (The music was awesome too...)
Another plus.. I finally got to see The Golden Compass trailer on the big screen. Heck yes.
Oh.. and dude3, I don't know if you noticed.. but they did show that Trelawney made the prophecy. When the prophecy was read aloud it was very obviously her voice.

I thought the scene after "The Kiss" was hilarious. Straight from the book which is fabulous.
Did anyone else think that the end sequence starting with Fred and George's exit was just pure genius? It's like they did total justice to Sirius' death. It was brilliant!

Did anyone else think this trailer was actually a trailer for some sort of EV:N movie before the title came up? The music they play in it is exactly the same as the music in the beginning of the game, it started and I cheered, only to be sheepish afterwards. Should be a good movie anyway.

I didn't think it was a nova movie, but immediately once the trailer started I jumped a bit in my seat and said "That's Mars!" or something like that. Fortunately, I had friends around me band-nerdy enough to understand what I was talking about.
