So out here in good ol' Northern Nevada it's a tropical 106 degrees out. Needless to say the heat has left me to resort to sleeping in my underwear with my $15 Target fan on High and converting my room into a dark cavern to shave a few degrees off. Oh yeah and...my house has NO AIR CONDITIONING!! I live in the quaint, old part of town...which is all good and dandy until Hell breaks loose and spills over into my abode.
Anyway, I've run out of ideas to keep cool.
Suggestions?

Wow lucky, only 106 where you are. :\
It's getting into about the 120s in Vegas and I work outside 10 hours every day in the nice hot hot hot sun. And I would hope that you sleep in your underwear.
You can try throwing ice cubes in your PJs, that always keeps me awake.

Awake.. not necessarily cool.
Luckily for me, in the same part of town I get by with a basement. I actually had to cover up with a blanket it was so chilly down there! If you can believe it..
But water coolers can work, but they're loud and horribly annoying. But Vec, your house was always rather warm. Dig a basement

it's really hot where i live too, and most of the time our air conditioner doesn't work. sleeping on the floor helps (if you don't have carpet) or, if you can find it, a bamboo mat on top of your bed works great.
