The Summer

So what are your plans for the summer? It's near the end of school, or whatever you're doing that isn't summer, so whatcha gon do when we get there?

Personally, I'm going to beachbum my way through it, with a few road trips here and there in a sweet van which I bought about 20 minutes ago, and haven't driven yet. Sailing's the aim of the game in my world...

Get a job.

Code a program.

Get dragged off in the direction of the Grand Canyon.

Get something a bit more powerful than a 6500.

Grab a couple of Nova plugs.

Hope this topic doesn't get locked so I can look at what I had planned so I don't have this revelation in early August that it's time for school again.

Eat, sleep, Just Chat.

(Just kidding)

Oh, I'll be working, writing, taking a summer course or two so I can graduate earlier, go out and meet a nice girl . . . the usual. And post here, of course.

Lots of golf and tennis, hanging out with friends, computer related activities, and of course, the dreaded summer reading/homework.

Doing an accelerated math course, returning to my homeland. Getting a newer computer, and attempting to stay out of my house and away from my family as much as possible.

It is highly unlikely that I'll diverge from the following schedule more than twice during the entirety of my summer break:

M-F: Wake up at 0630hrs, eat breakfast, take shower, leave at 0725, get to work at 0800, work until 1155, go to lunch until 1230, work some more, head home at 1625, eat dinner, get on internet, come here, post, read a book, go to sleep around 2330.

Sa: Wake up at 0830, eat breakfast, take shower, go grocery shopping, eat lunch, lounge around, eat dinner, watch TV, come here, post, go to bed around 2330.

Su: Wake up at 0900, take shower, eat large breakfast, watch baseball game/NASCAR/movie on the TV, eat dinner, watch TV while posting here, read book, go to bed around 2330.

Summer school (for getting ahead, of course), hopefully a decent job, possibly going camping in Colorado. AND SEEING JUDAS PRIEST!

There's around a 5% chance I'll end up going on a business trip to Conneticut! :P

Summer school....

My teaching practicum goes 'til almost the end of June. I then have a week off, when I hope to go camping for a few days at least, and to Victoria (British Columbia, Canada, not Australia) for the July long weekend (July 1st, Friday, being Canada Day). Then six weeks in July/August is summer classes to finish off my teaching degree (summer classes mean lots of time on the boards - yay campus wireless!). Then a couple of weeks of getting ready for Camp, then Camp for a week.

Then my actual vacation begins. Early September - early November, I'm off to the UK and Hungary. w00t! :P

I honestly don't understand "summer school". I mean, surely the whole point of summer is that there isn't school, and you can do fun stuff instead of going to lessons? "Getting ahead"? Why?

Most likely I will be going back to work at KFC in Edinburgh for some time to accumulate some money so that I can go to Octoberfest and Amsterdam with my friends. Naphtali might be staying with me for a couple of days in early June. I'll be reforming my crappy band when my bassist and lead guitarist get back from Chile and California respectively.

And I dare say that the booze will be involved in a big way.

I find English class to be a colossal waste of my time. Summer school allows me to finish it six weeks instead of instead of thirty-six and gives me more free time during the school year. It's not like I have anything better to do anyway.
