Harlequin was alerted to the abnormal energy pulse in the assassins plain.
Such energies were not meant for around this land.
Harlequin was the last of her people. Now as they were nearly extinct. Evil roamed in the form of powerful entities. Her people were meant to assassinate them.
She began running towards the source of power drawing out her Nemesis force weapon. As she approached she saw the being clearly, glowing a bright purple in the light.
He was casting a spell. The effect of her presence was quick.
The spell dwindled and snuffed out.
Her people had powers to stop other spells and magic going astray.
It also helps to assassinate them easily.
The being turned and spoke.
“Harlequin.. How nice of you to drop by.”
She new this entity to well.
“Death king, You should know better then to mess with the people of this land!”
“leave them now!”
Her weapon flamed green, (to the outside world it would have looked like a flame appearing in the middle of the air)
“You will pay for this Harlequin!” He snarled
The death king vanished most likely moving elsewhere.
Harlequin materialised into the material plane.
There were gasps from the people.
“Tell me what you know about the problem you are having trouble with, and tell me
Do you need my help to eliminate the Death King as you like to call him.”

OoC Please dont take any offense, this story is almost done, and the 'join' stage has been removed long ago. Also, this Death King is supposedly all powerful, so there has to be a few steps before we go straight to destroying him.

Dont fret though, this story has about a week's life left to it, so you wont have long to wait for the next story to appear if you want to continue posting.

Just hold out till then and youll be well welcomed into our TS community. BiC

OoC:Welcome to Cythera! I don't know how much of this TS is left, but it is very near the end. It is probably closed to new members at this point, but I don't know for sure, Avatara? We would be happy to have you join in the next TS(which may begin immediatly after this TS ends), though.

Also, could you please post about your character in Character Info so that we can get a basic understanding of who and what Harlequin is.BiC:

Sorry, but I think Desert Fox was right. Joining midway through a story is normally fine, but this is essentially the end. The story will be over within weeks, possibly days. Its really hard to build up a decent feel for a new character when its *the* last battle of a story.

But fear not, as was mentioned another story will be kicking off almost right after this one wraps up, and you'll be more than welcome to join in then. In the meantime, try to get a feel for peoples' characters, how they'd act and respond to situations, and interact with other characters - it'll make it easier to write story posts.

Sorry for the inconvenience, had you joined about two weeks ago there wouldn't have been a problem. :/

Is the team story the one that we Wizard has said that we were going to start a while ago. There hasn't been much talk about it in a while, I am not sure if it is still a go.

I think that was something else - more of a strategy game than a real TS.

Just a comment: the Death King is mostly all powerful, but the reason is cause it gives us a powerful villian to wrok against. And so we dont have to come up with a new evil person.

You might want to kick some of your stuff down a little, like being abble to fight the death king and kill him as easily as soldier vs soldier, although that is a great idea. Still no real real strong chars like the death king.

oh btw, welcome to the boards

I also agree with Desert Fox. Wait at most probably two weeks (and at the least one week) and Echoes from the Past will be done. What I last heard a few days ago on IRC makes it look like the next TS will be Desert Fox's.

Slightly off topic, but I am pleased to say that this was my 100th post.

Er, I wouldn't be bragging with those numbers. In fact, I wouldn't be bragging with my numbers, given that seven-star Avatara will show up sooner or later.

I was thinking about what Dark Jet said about my char,
Just tell me what you want me to lower and i will do it.
Also Harlequin can be eaily killed in the material plane for she has no real good weapons there.

From your character info post, it doesn't necessarily look like your character is too powerful. Still, there are three things you might want to consider:

1 - What does it take to shift into the ethereal plane? If it were instantaneous, she could just shift out when anyone swung a weapon at her, making her impossible to hit. You might want to also consider some mental/physical effort required.

2 - What are the advantages to not being in the ethereal plane? It seems to me that remaining there constantly would be the best course of action for her; she can't be hurt but can still interact with the material world.

3 - What does being Djnhe entail? I hate to say it, but the "last survivor of an extinct race" archetype is somewhat common. If you can give a convincing explanation of why this is significant, then go for it - but so far, it seems like being a Human with the ring would be equivalent.

Personally, I think your character is too powerful. The Death King is very strong (please read his character info if you haven't) and his spells can only be negated by a power of equal strength. His power overrides spell preventing abilities (such as with the dragons), but this is offset by the fact that he doesn't usually cast extremely powerful spells.

This might not be very important but, since he has been imprisoned for some time, he doesn't know your character, although he might know of her people and she might know of him through the stories of her people.

I think that the problem here is that the actions in her post do not necessarily follow from her abilities. So she can leave the material plane... that doesn't mean she can sneak up on a powerful mage and defeat him instantly. Next TS, I assume she'll have a better idea of what others intend, and post more in line with that.
