I must say I'm a little wary of it, because of things said on the Coldstone Board. Still, I'll give it a shot!
Thanks, andrew!
What things are those, specifically? No one has seen it until today.

Good work, though. Very intuitive[sp?] and easy to get around in.

Mostly things about it being impractical to have a day-night cycle, lighting effects and such. I've tried it now, and I must say it is five times better than I expected it to be. Still, I think I'll be writing my own game engine for the RPG i'm working on.
Good luck -- writing an engine is extremely non-trivial.

Thanks. I've already made several partily semifunctional prototypes for drawing the map, lighting effects, and such. Still, you're quite right - it's not a easy task to take on.

(4) I plan to make the engine avalable free to the masses if they want to use it for free games. If they want to make a game they are going to charge for (Shareware or commercial) then I want a cut

Yayness! Yet another game I've been waiting for for years. Won't get it now--too many people doing that, and so far, I only have wireless dial-up. )
It is very neat, you ought to download it!

Coldstone is great, so easy to use. Maybe a team project should be started on a Cythera two?.
I think Glenn Andreas should have somthing to say about that. On the other hand, it's hard to resist a 'expanded universe' Cythera with the new places invented in the TSes...
On another hand, I also have to insist that such a game would have to have a day-night cycle, though perhaps not a graphical one, just somthing so people can go to their beds insteed of being awake 24/7

Some of us are thinking about making games based off of the TSes. As for the day/night cycle, there's probably a workaround but it might be rather complicated.

I have to agree with you there, Glenn Andreas should have a say, however I don't think he would mind it..... According to coldstone manuals etc.. as Avatara said we could make a day/night cycle though it would be complicated...

It dosen't have to be a graphical day/night cycle, just a 'clock' so some people come out only at night, ect.

That's what i'm saying. I should be a graphical cycle, but it isn't 100% nessesary.
The actual cycle is much more important than the graphics that go with it, although they relly add a lot to the effect.

I wasn't referring to a graphical cycle...
You mean coldstone dosen't support any kind of timer? Even a move conter!
Or can it not adjust the positions of charicters/objects based on the contents of a varible?
Either way, it seems that this would make it almost useless for anything but a PoG-Like 'Hack-n-Slash'!
Urg!
That's disapointing
