I'm still sorta around constantly considering continuing the convoluted creation known as Ares: Override...

This is where I first discovered the Ambrosia web boards and where I first started posting.

**emotional sniff**

I still come visit from time to time. Sad to see the place in such disuse.

Sometimes I wonder if The Management™ is considering cutting down the number of Ares forums for lack of use, or to make more space for other forums. Sometimes I gets to wondering:

1. Is there any chance of that actually happening?
2. If so, can we fight it, or at least re-energize the place?
3. Does The Management™ even care?
4. Whats for dinner?

You could argue "dead" is quite relative.

There's actually a slight backlog of content (plugins, chronicles, etc.) that has been sitting for months. I think the mods are dead, not the community.

Well as long as there's a topic at hand, appearently it is active, just no one has anything to post about.

ATT still has a good breath of life left in it. All the other ARES boards are D-E-A-D.

The boards have always had their cycles.

Still, we are talking about a six year old shareware game which was released on the Mac and only on the Mac.

EV is still going, why not ARES? ARES was orginal, just like EV, just not as well advertised I guess. Anyway, I think I will make an addon for it, just to have fun.

EV enjoyed continued support, in the form of plugins and sequels. Ares was overshadowed by EV. I don't particularly like the way things have turned out, but I'm simply not up to posting as much, and I don't have the ability to run either Ares or Hera.

Ares has network play which in my view puts it well ahead of EV. Trouble is there are no GR players left!!
I got bored with EV very quickly.

EVweb, I look forward to that plug in...

I think it's a sad truth: All the good old games (Ares, Cythera) are dying slowly. In the end only some poor old gamers (us) will be left and pretend to be part of a BIG community... Posted Image

*sniff*

lets do something about it. We ought to make a MAJOR plugin with some engine changes and perhaps the same thing happens as with EV:N (I think we should skip override Posted Image ). It just has to be too good for ambrosia to ignore.
