Though I have limited time, I'd be more than interested in beta testing it; I can probably offer any mission idea or whatever help you need; I just can't work on anything directly using Hera.
My personal opinion is that you should do the Dominion War, with some Borg trouble and Romulan intrigue thrown in the mix.
I've done and will continue to do considerable research in Star Trek (and especially its ships); if you have questions I can try to help out.
I'm also working on an LCARS-style interface for EV; if you don't have one I could try to cook something up for Ares (though my graphics skill is a bit limited...but LCARS isn't that hard to do anyway since it's mostly solid colors).
Well, I hope to hear from you, I'd like to help.

Well. I just got back from my weekend exersise and I have a bad cold. I have read all the replys. Firebird we will need your help with power balance with the ships and also the story linw. I was thinking that the war would just be to much. like the Deminion has taken this planet. go take it back. or destroy this ship yard.

Hmm, yes, power balance I can do. I have actually downloaded a number of short video clips from various episodes to supplement the few videos I do have for Star Trek, and I should be able to judge some of these things fairly well.
Basically I feel I could serve as a sort of Star Trek consultant; though my interest in Star Trek has only bloomed recently, I think my research skills could be of some use to you.
As far as storyline goes, I'm not quite sure what your concern with the war is; it seems to me that the DS9 Dominion War stuff would fit Ares better than anything else (when was the last time you saw huge numbers of ships being sent off into battle? the Borg?). The opportunity is there for the action/strategy hybrid game structure of Ares to really implement Star Trek well.
Of course, you're the head guy, so I'll leave it up to you to decide on everything. But anyway, what's been done so far anyway? I'm sure I could offer input on what's been done already.
