Okay, I'm gonna do the fighter and the missle/acretion projector/other pulses for the Jjaro and start their Hera implementation.
Here are previews of the sprites for their ships: http://www.geocities...Dreadnought.jpg http://www.geocities...kk/Foldship.jpg
[warning, both are F***ing large]
I think we should agree to do the images at large sizes to avoid quadrupling, if not doubling, most people have the memory for it.

Sure, I certainly do. And I prefer the detailed version anyway. I'll get some of my spins done...

Umm, question on the pysical size of ships:
I've always thought of the Jjaro as having large ships.
Here's the current sizes:
300*300 doubled for Foldship
200*200 doubled for Carrier and Dreadnought
150*150 doubled for Battleship
110*110 doubled for Remover

Are these good sizes? How large should the corvette be? The fighter?

[Note that the images above, converted to Ares Color Table picts and given green backgrounds are my spins. The Foldship image is a 6*6 array of 300*300 images, and the Dreadnought one is a 6*6 array of 200*200 images.]

Try making the Remover a bit smaller-160x160 (not doubled) or smaller.
Scalpal-100x100
Drone-50x50 --- Actually, I've been thinking. The drone most likely carries no biotic beings, and the Jjaro probably are very effective at miniaturization- this could go as small as 16x16

I think the UESG will have medium to small ships.
384x384, Flagship, USS Merrimack
256x256, Monitor
192x192, Battlecruiser, Troopship
The others I've got spun already. Since they'll be smaller, I'm only doing 24 frames.
(Maybe 36 for the Monitor and the Merrimack)
I don't think any of these need doubling either.

I decided to make the drone a little smaller.

[Durandal]
POV seems eminantly designed to NOT do one thing: render pulses that convert to Ares color table. This looks A LOT better before it's Aresized: http://www.geocities...Accretion01.jpg and I am going haywire. I blew my external redundant SPU cache #7 just thinking about it now. Remind me to have the pfhor who designed the Kfiva (as they call the Rocianette)'s computer systems executed in extreme pain. Although he's probably already been, due to my escape.

Send it to me in PICT format. I'll see what I can do. Most of my pulses went into Ares well, though.

I'd send you the raw images (they look better), but that's 384k.
It's a large pulse, as it's designed to sit still and hurt things tons.

It's bad in the Ares Color Table. So: Double its size and display at 2048. Hopefully it'll look better (But you should test it in Ares first; replace some weapon's sprite with it and fire)

For some STRANGE reason, the accretion projector creates little random pixel-sized things that stay on my screen and WON'T GO AWAY. They're some sort of grafics glitch, they never move much, but the funny thing is that they appear differently on the regular view and map view.

A night or so ago on GR, Pallas handed the Nar off to me.

Well, I've finally got the algorithm down to automate construction of the Nar ships. Here's their Dreadnought, a world-ship catagory vessle.
[Nar vessles are all quite large]
http://www.geocities...eadnought01.jpg http://www.geocities...eadnought02.jpg http://www.geocities...eadnought03.jpg

If you'd like it to have more of the boxy portrusions, let me know, and I'll set virtual memory to 1 gig and let 'er rip.

The texture makes it look like its been drawn, not rendered. It doesn't do justice to the model.

You two seem to be cooking up a storm here... perhaps all major projects should be done in pairs.

Well, we're technically doing it in a group of 4, but 8 Lightnings hasn't reported in a while, and I can't remember the last time Sargatanus posted here Posted Image

Darkk: I think that there should be more protrusions, but not boxes. Try creating two extra engines to the side (basically just 4 cylinders strapped together plus a spherical coal furnace at the front). They wouldn't be able to move that ship as it is, I think, partially because the thing in the back doesn't look like an engine.

Also, Nar weapons will probably be large and unwieldy. There should be a couple weapons mounts to fire from.

I'm here. It's just that the topic has been pretty much techno-babble and that isn't my area of expertise. I've been writing out a lot of plot ideas in my silence.

Maybe they are large and unwieldy, but you've got to contrast this with the fact that the larger Nar ships are planet-sized.
THE NAR HAVE LARGE SHIPS.
The Nar dreadnought was literally thrown together in <15 minutes, and I'll work on it some.

I said nothing about them being smaller. I said that they'd need two really big engines to actually move that thing. I'm going to upload the planet pics (Colonized/Uncolonized) in just a minute to marathon.invasion.tripod.com/downloads

I'm currently debating with myself whether or not to do the weapon mounts. Are Nar guns really large enough that they'd be visable on a planet-sized ship? What the f*** would they look like if they were? I've done some experaments (using giant telsa cannons) and I'm not sure how it looks. I'll post them in a bit...

The Nar are not technologically advanced. To eliminate an outpost on a planet, they'd need a realy big gun.

--The quote concerns the Nar using similar tactics taking control
--of drones in a battle for Epsilon Euobea. (Without looking)

I remebered the circumstance without looking too. I guess I'll work on "large guns that look like Civil-War-era cannons" tomorrow when I'm awake. No work will be done tonight due to lack of sleep.

But did you remember Epsilon Euobea? Posted Image

I finished the Nebulon ships. But don't think I sacrificed quality for speed. With good metaballing and an excellent surface texture, they look so good I don't think I needed to spend extra time on them.

No, you got me there. But can you think of any reasons the player character might be female (or at least effiminate)?

In any case, I'm waiting on you to inform me:
A) what the f*** Nar weapons look like and
:P how big they should be in relation to the "really fricking large" Nar ships.

Not really, why?

Nar guns? Big cannons, probably about 8-16 pixels across in relation to the ship that you showed us. As for what they looke like, cylinders with a hole down the middle should look fine.

Sounds like the Nar just have big rock shooters. Hey! Their dreadnought could have a Nasteroid launcher! Posted Image
