(I noticed that this board seems to be a little low on activity, so I thought I might as well go ahead and post this.)

Of the major cities in Cythera, which is your favorite and why?

Personally, I enjoy both Pnyx and Cademia most, but I'm voting for Cademia just because of the variety of NPCs, quests, lore, etc. Also, it has the Alraeican Tavern ;) .

Pnyx, because it was a completely different vibe than all of the others. The whole everything-in-a-pyramid really made it stand out as a school for maji instead of a random assortment of buildings and rooms. Plus, it had secrets.

Kosha. gotta love the sea-side manor on a cliff-top without all that icky resort atmosphere.

Kosha is weird. I'll take the resort.

I've always been fond of Catamarca because it was the first city outside LKH I visited and the people there seemed pretty nice, but I'm going with Cademia because it's more fun to roam around in, and there's just generally more stuff there.

Well, after thinking about this poll for ten days, I still can't decide which one to vote for :( This is a really hard question.

Maybe Kosha. Kosha has beautiful dancing music, a gem merchant capable of making you richer than the game can handle, it's the only place in Cythera where you can buy a steak, and it's even got an underground illegal drug laboratory. Kosha rocks.

Or maybe Catamarca. Catamarca has that annoying music that I love so much, especially when I played it on an older computer and it kept glitching... Catamarca has a pretty cemetery, a healing water spring, and is the only town on a peninsula. Peninsulas are cool.

But what about Cademia? There's something to be said for sheer size and amount of things to do.

And Odemia - how many hours did I spend running back and forth between the farm and Odemia, trading flax? And Odemia has chickens. And a prison. And it's fortified!

But Pnyx is unique and mysterious. Or at least, it's felt mysterious since the For Whom the Bell Tolls TS. That might have something to do with it. Still, Pnyx is a pretty cool school. The wishing fountain rocks too. And the music's pretty nice.

LandKing Hall is convenient. It's got the only comfortable bed in all of Cythera, plus free food and infinite mana replenishment. Definitely the best lodging in Cythera. But, there's always the risk that everything (including the doors) will vanish, leaving you stuck. I believe allocating lots of memory to Cythera decreases this risk, but I'm not even sure about that. I've never encountered that glitch anywhere but LKH.

What can I say? I've got so many good memories of all of these cities and I can't make a decision. & whenever I think about it, it makes me want to play Cythera again.
I'll become even more undignified than this

Odemia is my favorite, mostly because I like its music the best.

I'll follow BW's lead and explain my sentiments about each city.
Land King Hall is okay; there's not a whole lot of goings-on, but it has a peaceful atmosphere. I'd rate it average.
Catamarca is probably my least favorite, because I like its music the least.
Cademia does have the most to do, making it a close contender, but I still like Odemia better. It probably comes in second to Odemia.
I actually kind of like Kosha; I like the idea of having most of the town be a giant manor. Rates about the same as LKH.
Pnyx isn't too bad either, plus it's the only location with a two-story building. Third place, I guess.

This is a much more controversial subject than I had anticipated…453 should vote for LKH just to keep things even.

Catamarca, because it has the prettiest name. And because I don't know the slightest thing about half the cities.

If you give a cat a caption, you entertain people for a moment. If you give a Catamarca, you entertain people for a lifetime.

I'd give you a karma point for ending the controversy, but I can't. So, you'll just have to pretend that you got a karma point.
