I just realized there's evidence for the people of Cythera having a writing system based on Linear B. There's a reference to Thera being reclaimed by "Enesiadone": this comes from Linear B inscriptions which reference Poseidon in his role as causer of earthquakes. If written in the Greek alphabet as normal, it would be spelled differently, which is why it doesn't turn up many results when searching for it.
Now, if you identify the cataclysm at Thera with the Minoan Eruption, that actually puts the arrival of humans at Thera before the invention of Linear B, while the undeciphered script Linear A was still being used.
Does anyone have copies of the signs with "Seldane" script? I'm curious if they look at all like Linear A or B (even though this would not chronologically make sense).

I don't understand this very well, but here's some links that may assist:
Buzzy's post with the Seldane signs & Wizzy's page of the entire Seldane font.

I'll become even more undignified than this

I think that Pallas should create a unique Cytheran language based on Linear B. Then, we'd be able to compare Cythera to LotR and lure more people to the boards!
