We've all read or seen a bad story at some point in time (likely, many times, thanks a lot Narnia!). But while you're sitting around at home this Christmas season, stuck with lots of free time and no valid excuses about schoolwork, why not try and see if you could do better?

If you're up to it, the challenge is to write a story that contains all of the bad ideas you guys came up with:
  • Incompetent protagonist
  • Cliché villain
  • High school teenagers
  • Two people in a sappy love relationship
  • Saving Christmas
  • 10-day old mushroom steak
  • Sentient killer furniture
  • Turtle in distress
  • Writing a story about dumb ideas

QUOTE (Avatara @ Dec 20 2010, 02:26 PM)
We've all read or seen a bad story at some point in time (likely, many times, thanks a lot Narnia!).

Actually, I enjoyed the latest movie, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, quite a bit. A large part of the story was character development, I would say, especially the Eustace character. Will Poulter gave an excellent performance as the obnoxious, slightly-awkward cousin. It was far less action-oriented than the others, but the action scenes, especially the ending battle, are entertaining. The movie also had a very good fairytale feel to it, which is, after all, what the Narnia series is meant to be. And I have to say that using Pauline Baynes' original illustrations in the credits was brilliant.

It isn't the greatest movie ever made, but it is a good movie. I would highly recommend it to those looking for lighthearted, family-friendly entertainment over Christmas.

If you'd like a longer review, just say so! tongue.gif

I honestly haven't seen it. I just know you dragged the Laxinator away from us yesterday so he could see it twice in a row. That, and you didn't add to the list. tongue.gif

Wizard, I seem to recall asking you to not derail the topic...

I might get around to trying to write a chron sometime in the next month, although I'm not sure if it will be one that fits all of the above requirements.

However, I do think one could fulfill most of the objectives on this list simply by ripping off of Warcraft 3's storyline...

"The Jim maneuver!"
- Jason Peck, R.I.P
"You know what? That milk was good. I don't care if that horse was on steroids."
- Melo, after drinking a glass of Nesquick.
