To everyone on the Cythera Web Board:

Have a Merry Christmas :P .

Posted Image

And a Happy New Year.

Note: For those wondering, this screenshot was put together by Wizard, and the writing was formed with his help.

However, I did manage to make an apparently permanent change to the terrain of Cythera itself. Consider it a Christmas gift if you wish ;) .

(This method is still limited, however. I have found that I can spread flour out and change its item number to that of a terrain block, but I do not yet have all terrain listed. Doing detailed work would take time.)

Merry Christmas to you Cytherans! :P
At last he came to a door, with these words in glowing emeralds: THE END OF THE WORLD. He did not hesitate. He opened the door and stepped through.

And did you send your true love six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree?

Huzzah! Props to our resident Cythera hacking team!

You may not think much of this, but this has a lot of potential:

If you were to turn your character into something that could swim, then change (nearly) every tile into water, you'd essentially have a blank canvas on which to remake Cythera from the ground up. Sure, you don't know all of the different tiles yet, and you can't change the quests or NPCs, but this is potentially a very big leap towards making a Cythera Total Conversion, no? Creatively re-writing Cythera with some patience and a bag of flour is very progressive from where you started from.

Thanks :P .

I haven't experimented with this much yet, I'm afraid. I'm tempted to have a look at character AI first. Unfortunately, issues with Sheepshaver might affect my ability to use it to run Cythera on this computer. (I might try classic for a time though.)

I also might need to start another topic on this modding ability soon.

EDIT:
Incidentally, I haven't forgotten this ability or its implications. I just haven't had much time to work on it lately. I'll get around to it again soon ;) .
