Yes, I still think we should try to run two at once. I see you've started the normal TS, now if we can just get an idea for Pippin's TS. . .

Anyways, I believe that any characters created for this should go in a separate character info topic. It would really only be to help avoid confusion; there's no point in clumping all the different characters and timelines into one.

Perhaps we should just start with something simple (at least partly to keep discussion on this idea going) while discussion on more complex plots continue?

*bump*

Does anyone still have interest in this idea, too? I'm willing to do it. I think, since it's in a different timeline, I'd create a new, weaker character. I want to wait on that though, until I know what all the plot is and such.

Personally, I vote for starting one with a simple plot and then seeing how things go from there.

How about: people have begun noticing the native wildlife is becoming unnaturally aggressive and eccentric. Travelers in small groups are sometimes being attacked and farms are being invaded in the night by these animals (which are also being seen closer and closer to the cities, places they typically avoid). Farmers and local citizens have started asking for an investigation party to be assembled, and even the wizards of Pnyx are willing to loan a few of their students to root out the cause of this strange phenomenon.

The exact reason for the aggression is unknown, but linked to an overall growing "darkness" around the land (a possible larger arc that future installments in this series can lead into).

I might be tempted to return for a simple ts but, im rather confused about the ideas thrown back and forth...

So.. new characters that are low levels (inexperienced).. i got that part.. but is it limited to Cythera only classes or (since im rather fond of RPing as a druid), the beginnings of the class.. such as a druid learning how to become a druid... like having a connection to the elements but not knowing the extent of his/her powers (and being able to use them very limitedly)?

if that makes any sense.. just let me know what would be okay and I'll try to hop in when it starts

That's the idea.

So, who's still participating?

If we have enough people, someone might just want to take the plunge (so to speak) and start the TS. Personally, I'm fine with Avatara's idea, but, as I said earlier, I'm fine with just about any idea for the TS so long as it gets started.

Yup, I'm in.

(Do we have to use a different character for the other TS, or can we use the same one?)

Different. New characters for this TS.

I'll make a new (past) character later in hopes that it will progress the opening of the new TS.

Name: Ikaros
Gender: Male
Age: Young
Race: Human

Backround:
Ikaros spends alot of time in the past.

That's the basic shell for my character. I have alot more ideas for him but at the moment there's not enough direction for me to finalize anything.

I'm also planning to start a new character for this series as soon as we have a few more details ironed out. First of all, as much as I wish we could still get Ragnar0k's idea to work, I'm fully open to Avatara's idea. It is certainly something different, and sounds simple enough to start a new type of TS. It's storyline is also flexible enough that we could choose to use it once or stretch into a larger story arc as Avatara suggested.

Secondly, I still feel that these TS's need a new acronym so that we can quickly distinguish these stories from our regular ones.

And thirdly, I'd like to start a brand new character info topic as soon as we have decided on a new acronym for these TS's so that we can distinguish the character info topic for this from our other.

CTS and a separate character info thread is really just extra clutter, since the current one already holds four or five story continuities worth of characters. I'm intending for the first post of the OOC thread to have a cast list with direct URLs to character profile posts though, to make writing easier.

I think that someone might just want to go ahead and start this. Personally, I will be unable to do so, since I'm somewhat busy these days (due to the fact that my semester ends next week).

I don't really feel the same way. Just reading through the past replies in this topic, you can tell that just about every single person has gotten this idea confused with the regular TS's at least once, some even several times. I think that a new TS title and a separate character info thread would actually help reduce the clutter that would be caused by the necessity to clarify which TS continuity you are referring to.

Although, I must say, I enjoy reading your cast lists. :P

I'm beginning to think that it would be best to wait to start this TS until another week or two have passed. The reasoning behind this is simply that everyone is busy with finals, graduation plans, and other end-of-the-school-year projects. As Bryce mentioned in another topic, hopefully things will pick up this summer.

If nobody objects to my plot suggestion above, I could start it late next week. If somebody has a better idea, go on ahead and propose one.

Ok, Sorry guys for not being around for so long. School started and I have been not busy just a
little preoccupied thinking about other things.

Anyway Avatara your Idea sounds good. Starting it soon would be good.

Sooo we need new characters for all! With a nice cythera based theme to them and low experiance.
Which means mage characters will only be able to cast a few spells before they tire.
Melee characters will be slowish, Archers will miss, Bards will play bad tunes... so on and so forth.
The sands of time trickle slowly. slowly spirralling down and our lives are but a grain.

Storytellers will bore their audiences rigid... ^w^

I'm supporting this movement, and have ideas for a character who's even more unsuited for combat than Aster.
