If an attachment is too big, it is automatically scaled to a thumbnail that you click on to see full-size, like in the other thread.

Ok I just open the thumb, dragged the picture onto my desktop, and then opened it up in Preview. Because the pictures are 1-pixel type maps when you zoom into them it doesn't blur the picture at all. I did this on my G5 so I don't know if one can zoom in on an older computer, I'll try later. Though if they stay that size they'll be quite hard to read unless intructions are there to tell you to drag them onto your computer and zoom in.

On an unrelated note: It appears that there is a new Ferazel add-on... With new graphics! Gotta check this out!

EDIT: I'm not one for double posting so: I was digging around in Ice's profile and found this. Looks helpful.

Thanks, Avatara.

So, should I upload the different sizes of the main Cythera map?

The main map is next on my to-do list, followed by the city maps and such.

Thanks, Two Jacks, that might very well come in handy (probably more in regards to hacking though) :P .

EDIT:
I went ahead and included all sizes.

Map uploading is almost completely halted by a bizarre bug.

For some unearthly reason, Manage Current Attachments is blurring attachments across multiple posts.

For example, attempts to upload the Mining Camp map after uploading the Abydos map (or vice-versa) result in the Abydos map being uploaded as well.

Deleting the extra Abydos attachment also deletes the original one.

This bug also exists between the Catamarca and Cademia Guide maps.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

EDIT:
I've found a workaround (somewhat messy though in my opinion as it involves post-deleting), but I'm not certain if it can be applied to existing posts without messing up the map order.

It's still looking good. Maps came out nicely. Can we make a meter that shows the persentage complete? It would be more fun than useful. :P

My god, I'm witnessing the biggest double post in Ambrosia Software history!

"Eventually?" Are you saying that you don't want this chance to improve your post count after all :P ?

Two Jacks: if you wish to make such a meter, please feel free to do so.

Edit:
I think that the maps section is done. Please, feel free to check and confirm this.

I regret that order of posts is not quite perfect, although it will be correct in the links. The attachment bug forced me to move Catamarca and the Mining Camp to the last posts.

Edit 2:
By the way, I'm thinking of including a text version of charts for non-members' benefit, since the uploaded screenshots are not available to them. Should these go in the same posts as the charts for members (i.e. screenshots uploaded as attachments) or in separate links?

Edit 3:
Armor and weapons are up, not yet with text-versions.

I'm liking the items section.

Might be fun to take all the little item pictures and make a folder icon package for Cythera.

Keep up the good work!

Done.

Flood control started attacking me near the end there, so there may be a double post or two.

Now, I wasn't entirely sure what to do with the links in the "How to use Pandora's Box" section. It linked to the Pandora's Box application as well as a saved game, both being saved on the scrabab.com server. I left them out for now. Perhaps we should upload them to the add-on files and link to those?

Wow, he actually did it :P .

I think that uploading them to the addons page does sound like it might be a good idea.

EDIT:
I went ahead and pinned the Guide. Linking and Chronicles still remains to be done.

Where should charts and such for non-members go? Should text-versions be added? To the same post as the picture or elsewhere?

So far there hasn't really been a demand for non-member features, but then again if there was a demand we wouldn't even know about it would we? :P If there are non-member charts I'd recomend text for people who have slow/old computers, and I would keep the charts in the same post as the member charts just to avoid confusion.

Wow, I'm surprised it's already (pretty much) done! It looks great all that's left is linking really. Are we going to add anything to it, or keep it as the original version? Like I said earlyer, there have been some advancements...

Looks great and is defanitly a good addition to the Cythera webboards.

EDIT: Uh, wasn't there a problem with uploading anything to the Cythera add-ons page? I thought it was the reason we couldn't upload the Tree of Life files.

I am not sure who runs the addons page currently, its probably Magnus. If that's the case, I don't think he'd be very supportive of a cheating application like that (or I'd hope he wouldn't, you cheaters :P).

I have uploaded both Pandora's Box and the Edited Saved Game! Now all we have to do is wait a few years to see if any administrator notices and decides to allow them to be posted. . . B)

Yes, it was a problem, but somebody, probably Magnus, eventually did upload them. They are there now if you check. Unfortunately, they are compressed with .sitx

First we have to wait for someone to upload it before it can be called cheating. And besides, it isn't cheating. . . we're ,uh, preserving. . . history! :P

Actually, Avatara, I don't really use Pandora's Box: I think ACE is better.

In any case, if I really want to cheat, I can just hack my characters skills and such :P . Granted that could be slow, but think of how intimidating Fetch (15) would look!

I'm going to do a bit of the interlinking today.

What should I do about links to people? In missions, people's names will often show up as links. Clicking on such a link brings up a small picture (not portrait) of the person. To simulate this, I'd have to upload such pictures as attachments in separate posts. Should I alter this and make such links point to the relevant part of the People section (which includes a picture and a portrait)?

Oh! All of the indexing is already done! There are a few other things to be added, such as links to the Pandora's Box download and save file if they ever get uploaded.

And, I think that if people interlinking is necessary at all, it should only link to the relevant section rather than a portrait. Of course it may not be necessary at all.

The whole portrait thing never helped me much anyways since many people in Cythera looked exactly the same, also I think it would complicate the guide to much.

Looks good and operates good too. Only problem I see is that everytime you click a link it opens a new window (even when you click "back to walk-thrus"). Is there away around this? It's only a minor problem.

Still I like it, good job.

Unfortunately, there is no way around it. That's just how the boards handle any sort of linking. It annoys me too, but it's not as bad if you use tabs.

I don't think that I'll be doing much work on the Guide in the next day or two...I'd like to hear everyone's input on what to do about the people links.

Hmm, I have a bit more linking to do (mainly from mission to mission from what I can tell). I also have to decide what to do about the people...

I might try to get some more work done on it this weekend or thereabouts.

Unfortunately, my uploads are still not on the add-ons page. . .

And as for the linking, I would say just do the standard index and mission-to-mission linking and such. Don't bother with the people—too much trouble for nothing particularly helpful, in my opinion.

I think that most of the interlinking is done. People is on hold for the moment.

I'm not sure what to do for non-members...adding text-versions of the charts to the Guide seems like it would create clutter.

Well for non-mebers just add a disclaimer at the top of the guide warning them that most of the visual aids can only be viewed by people who are members of the ambrosia forums. Looks good still, hopefull it will be done before new years. :P
