I didn't see this item on the Slayer's guide...

Behind the mountains behind Land King Hall, there's this stronghold you go into with all these undead and lichs and stuff. That's where you find one of the crystals. I also found this diamond ring with the inscription : 742 - Will To Union

when I put it on I get a strange feeling...pretty much just like when I put the other 2 rings on

what does this ring do?

what's special about it?

I can only wear 2 rings, Is it better than one of the 2 I already have? [omen's and the resistance one] should I swap it out or put it on another character...?

2nd question

just south of that stronghold there is another one, but it disappears once I enter it and it's all just woods like on the world map

what's up with that?

As I remember it, the diamond ring allows you to see the undead base, so it wont turn into a bunch of trees when you get there. Equip it, then enter that area.
Have I reached the stupid quota?

oh ya, and another thing

that one guy Atreus you buy/sell gems from in Kosha

he has a ring with the same inscription, it doesn't have a diamond though and doesn't feel different when you put it on

I wonder what it means?

There has been much speculation about that, but it may just be coincidence that Atreus has a ring with that inscription. If you ask him about '742' he will blush in embarassment...it may have something to do with his relationship with Laodice (and her engagement to that other fellow).

Maybe Laodice had a relationship with the lich in the strong hold.

I wonder what 742 refers to? If it's a year, it would be quite strange for a lich to have one in a stronghold that was likely built several hundred years before that year.

It might simply be a common inscription on Cytheran rings.
