I wanted to wait until the forum gained motion again befor I posted this. For the Interogate wine contract I've noticed that there have been no attempts to even try to finish this mission so I have an idea that we band together and finish this quest! I'm going to post the instructions for the mission from Slayer's guide to Cythera.

Quote

How to get
Complete Take flour to Apis.
How to solve
I don't think that it's possible to complete this mission. If it were, these are probably the steps you would need to take to get it close to completed. Complete Timeflux book to Charax. Complete Kelp to Charax. Complete Free Maayti. Complete Find Opheltius' murder weapon. Get the fourth crolna shard (see number 10 of Retrieve Books of Wisdom (x/10) for help with this). Merge the crolna shards into one piece. Go talk to Sabinate. He will give you a mushroom. Take it to Charax. That's where I get stuck.

I was under the impression that it was confirmed with gandreas that this mission was not doable, but rather a nudge towards a plot element.

Yup. Check the FAQ section at Slayer's guide.
ooshmaster ground Alaric to dust, but to no effect.

"Interrogate Wine Contract?"
*Blink*
If you say so...
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

I usually don't bother to even get the mission, it's so unsatisfactory to have an unfinished mission. Then again Retrieve Books of Wisdom never checks either...

As far as I know, previous posters are correct that this mission is impossible to complete.

I thought Glenn Andreas said somewhere that you can't complete it.

Would it be possible to somehow edit the gamefiles to at least have the mission say "completed"? : D
Have I reached the stupid quota?

The problem with any data editing in Cythera is that basically everything is encrypted. Not too mention it's something of a jumbled mess.

I'm pretty sure it's widely agreed that no matter what you do, the quest just isn't meant to be completed.

What really bugs me though is the fact that Retrieve Books of Wisdom never gets checked even when you complete it, at least the wine thing isn't a bug.

I've had success in getting the sapphire mission checked off, only by tricking the librarian with the books-in-a-box cheat (that is, handing over the books while they're in a box, throwing them on the floor, picking them up, and handing them in again). But I've also broken my To-Do List that way o.O

If the unchecked wine mission is so annoying, why accept it in the first place? The innkeeper will give you a free meal if you don't ^_^

I don't.

If you do the books mission honestly however, it never checks which is really annoying.

Then again Cure Alaric never really checks...

Yes! I mean, he could at least say, "go return all the stuff you've stolen here, and come back to me when you're ready to go home." @_@

In that case, I think that you'd be there for a very long time, since I doubt that you'd be willing to return anything :P ...

Of course I'd return the, um, "borrowed" stuff! But, I still wouldn't be back for a while... Why would I want to go back to my hot home when I'm the strongest person in Cythera? ^_^
