How come UrSylph can tell that Tavara is awaiting his revenge if he's imprisoned?
Wasn't he imprisoned before humans came to Cythera?

And another interesting thing. Weren't the Cytherans originally mariners?

Your thoughts, please.

UrSylph, as I understand, can roam around as a vision like Omen can, and therefore can find out what happens when he's imprisoned. I think he said that too.

Yes, in the game it says something about the Cytherans coming from the north in boats.
What I want to know is, "Where are the boats?" You'd think with them being such an important part of Cytheran history that they'd be in a museum in Cademia or something.
And the winner of the text only entry goes to CrazyChick for "Watch for B&B on bridge." Encountering the B&B anywhere is dangerous enough. Throwing a bridge into the recipe is an equation for disaster. - Ragashingo

They all got broken-up by the scylla before the people thought of building a museum. And by the time they thought of building a replica, nobody was left who remembered how to build boats.
The current custodian of the Cytheran Museum of Unnatural History, (poor guy thinks he's a ratlizard *sigh*), has been known to lament that oversight in his saner moments.

Ignae too knows an awful lot for one who never leaves his hideout. I think that the Elementals can scry the land or something.

I seem to recall that UrSylph says something about being able to feel "the turning of the wheel" even though he's imprisoned. I don't know quite how he would be able to do this. It could mean that he can feel the balance and deduce events from changes in it, that he learns of events through his element, or various other possibilities.

Hmm, I'd forgotten that. It could be UrSylph in some way or it could even be another Sylph. However, that last seems unlikely...although UrSylph did state that he was the last great Sylph (I think anyway).

I surely got the impression that UrSylph was imprisoned long before humans came to Cythera. Also, he flat-out says that although he is cut off, he can still sense some things. Isn't that explanation enough? ^_^

Those are their words: "We are UrSylph. The last great Sylph." They don't say "The last of the great Sylphs." It is perhaps conceivable that the Sylph referred to in the Bestiary of Asilops is a Sylph stripped of power (no longer great).

If Omen can roam around as a vision, and it's implied that UrSylph or at least the Sylphs can, why can't Ignae?

'cause he doesn't feel like it.

Or maybe they can only roam around as a vision in their own element...

UrSylph was just a power hungry elemental who bit to much off and was thrown into solitary confinement. I think is main (maybe only) purpose in the game is just to provide history and plot development to players who don't trust omen (I'm onto you Buzzzzy!). I don't think the creators got to much into the technicalities of UrSylph and probally didn't think of any loopholes like him being surround by all elements with no escape. The most intricate thing they did was make him invincable (But incredibly week). That's all folks. :P

I meant that Ignae probably can roam around as a vision.

Dunno, maybe he's mistaken for fire, or maybe he's invisible or maybe he roams around when nobody's active.

Maybe they have one of those green crystal balls. I mean there are two blue ones, maybe there were more? Maybe Alaric stole it! *Grabs pick axe and hammer* And maybe Igneas is the flames. And why do you never see an undine in it's undine form? Maybe Undine are Scylee?

Guess we'll never know.

Scylla are Undine's servants.

I don't think Undine have a form, or if they do, it's what Omen looks like most likely. The others never want to be seen as an Undine (would you?) and so therefore always shapeshift in to different forms.

I assumed that Undine didn't really have their own form, the closest they have is the way Omen appears to you (a brief image). But what I find odd is that Jinrai talks to you the same way Omen does, and she's dead. By the way, I've always wondered if Jinny took Seldane form while she was married to Jhiaxus... Though maybe not, if Undine have their own form.

I think she did. She certainly looks like a Seldane, only desaturated (ghost faint image, probably).

Given the fact that all three of the other elements have a form, I think it would be reasonable to conclude that the Undine do as well.

I never would think Jinrai is Undine, I just know that there both spirits, maybe all spirits talk like that?

I could be wrong, but I think that it's commonly assumed (at least in TSs and such) that they can.

it certainly seems right to me, except that UrSylph seems to insubstantial to maintain much of a form without using disguises.

I suppose, since the Seldane are the only ones with more than one aside from Undine, and all the other three are very inactive and believed to be wiped out, it's possible they can shapeshift but don't due to inactivity. In which case, Omen is still most likely the Undine's natural shape, or why else would he take that shape?
